“Our family absolutely loved Koora Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely cared for by the staff (especially Jason who has already reached out to me in advance to understand our arrival time) and fell in love with the setting, which is nestled beautifully into the mountain forest. The service was impeccable, and the view overlooking the Monteverde cloud forest from the restaurant was truly epic. The food was so fantastic that we ended up eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner there……

“Really enjoyed our stay here! One of our favorite places we stayed at! The fire pit and the views were stunning! We got some beautiful photos. The server in the restaurant I forget his name but he was wonderful as well. We also did the avocado trail and it was nice but we went a little late so it started getting dark. Def recommend doing it earlier in the day. Overall, very clean and friendly staff. Recommend!”

“We loved the breakfast. We didn’t like the busy noisy trucks driving by all day and night. The room had a skylight and it was very bright overnight so that wasn’t great either. The free coffee and tea all day was a great perk. The fireplace at night in the lobby was also a nice addition. Would stay again but in another room that’s darker.”

“Very nice hotel, beautifully decorated, beds and pillows very comfortable. We only stayed one night but it was a pleasure. Staff was very professional and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Appreciated that you ordered off a menu and not just a buffet. But. They also had buffet items out like cereal, fruit and bread. Overall wonderful experience.”

“Just book it. You will not regret it! The kitchen is well-appointed, bed is very comfortable, the deck chairs are great, and the staff was lovely! No railing outside, so don’t bring little kids (noted in the description). Driveway is a bit steep but you need 4wd in Monteverde anyway. Lots of great markets or restaurants nearby!”

“Gorgeous property with a few walking trails and complimentary access to the nature reserve where we spotted monkeys and toucans!! Room was clean and they provided a bottle of complimentary champagne for our anniversary. On site restaurant was delicious. We especially loved roasting s’mores at night. Incredible stay can’t wait to return”

“Clean and quiet; friendly and professional staff; pretty good breakfast, included. Opening/closing bathroom sliding door was a little difficult because no knob. Also heavy front room door had no knob in the inside so it was a little difficult to open it from inside.”

“Our stay at Cala Lodge was an absolute delight! What a very special place Francisco and family have created! We loved staying in the Mathilda House. It was perfect for our family of 5, ages 14-82, nestled in the cloud forest with floor to ceiling windows. It was incredible to see wildlife pass by, we felt lucky to be guests in their well-loved and protected forest. We had dreams and conversations with the howler monkeys throughout the night, and agoutis, coatis and diverse birds were easily seen……

“Beautifully maintained and setup property that was great for our family visit. The property was very clean and well appointed. The staff left great communication on how to get to the property. Check-in was all online and super simple. Recommended.”

“What a unique stay! Bungalows are in the woods surrounded by nature. We felt secluded and enjoyed the wildlife all around us. The hiking trails were wonderful, and the staff friendly and helpful. The bungalows are clean and modern and come with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Also conveniently close to restaurants and shops. Loved it!”

“Check-in was smooth and easy with a welcome drink. After checking in, we walked to our rooms and found it to be spacious and nicely furnished, however the interior seems a bit outdated with wooden panel walls that has a old funk. We noticed the towels and shower robes also smelling like it. Given we are in/near nature, there were plenty of bugs outside the perimeter as well as some creepy crawlers inside. There was a bug's leg on the night stand. A few days into our stay after showering,……
