"Hotel was comfortable, safe, and they had onsite driver accommodations (apparently a thing in Sri Lanka). We didn't get to stay here long enough, and there was a festival that made the streets incredibly crowded. I wish we had the chance to explore the area more, however we made our way down (per the hotel's recommendation) to dinner at Hideout Lounge, and then back to the hotel. 1. Owner and cook are nice people.
2. Good view from the room.
The bad:
1. You are at the mercy of the staff as this is a remote place.
2. They charged a lot for a very basic breakfast, almost 5 times what you would get outside for better food.
3. No air conditioning and dirty rooms. There was a dead frog in our bathroom. Dust bin was very dirty.
4. The view was blocked by trees.
5. No telephone or credit card in this hotel. They want only cash.

"Cassendra staff eere welcoming and helpful - even before I arrived. They helped me find affordable transport for a day trip and when needed were able to serve my dinner extra quickly. Wifi was touch and go but ultimately held for a few video calls. The hotel is a bit old but rooms are spacious and clean with great bathrooms.
The location is know to tuktuk drivers and the mountain offers amazing views. Its also very close to the best Kandyan dancers (5 min walk) and a view point!"
