Chongqing Chaotianmen Square

Located in the heart of Chongqing away from tourists areas. People welcomed us warmly and we were kind of celebrities. I recommend this hotel as staff were very accommodating and although we toured other parts of China we kept this for full stay so we would not have to carry our big luggage around China and Hong Kong. Great food and massages just around the corner.

Overall good stay, but could use some improvements. Finding the hotel can be difficult if not given previous instructions on how to get there, as it’s part of a larger collection of hotels in one building with designated elevators, but staff were helpful enough to provide that beforehand. Lobby is shared on the 21st floor with no restrictions on smoking, unfortunately. And we need to be patient and aware on waiting for the elevators. In regards to the room, river view was great with tall windows and a bathtub. It would be better if the bathtub didn’t move when pushed and if the light strips in that area worked too. Bathtowels and bathrobes were provided, but some hand towels would be nice for the 1st floor too. The counter on the main level looked nice and convenient, but unlevelled and appeared unsturdy. Great location for walks and shopping.
