"Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. We were not informed about the paid parking until a day after check-in. The hot tub and ice machines were out of service, and the breakfast area was chaotic, with food and spilled milk left sitting on the counters. Every seating table in the breakfast area was covered in food grime and crumbs. In our room, pictures had fallen off the walls, and when we pulled back the sheets, we found black hairs in the bed, making us question the cleanliness of the room. Overall, the hotel did not meet our expectations."

"Messaged the hotel a week prior to checking in to see if a possible slightly earlier check in would be possible, only to receive a response a day before the trip basically a copy and paste of the hours of checking in and shuttle times. No acknowledgment of my actual question. Plans had ended up changing and the person that was traveling with me, my mother, ended up staying home. Day of check in, the site said check in was 3, but I actually did not get there until 9pm due to the events I was attending (noted in my message to them). The staff was rude when I got there and acted like me showing up was an inconvenience. When I got to my room, and got settled I found that none of the outlets worked, the AC was out, the phone did not work, and even the TV was welcoming a different guest with a different room number. I had to go back downstairs to get this resolved and there was a different staff working. She did not apologize and her response was that she would send maintenance when they had a chance. This is unacceptable. Knowing I was extremely tired from traveling all day I reiterated that they needed to be there immediately as I had another event in the morning. About 10 mins after getting back to my room I heard the AC kick on and the control panel had power, maintenance knocked. Magically there was power. This is completely unacceptable as all of this should have been checked hours ago. I will never go there again."

"This hotel is by far the worst we have ever been in, and we have stayed at many hotels. To start off it took 3 times asking for a rollaway bed, and we finally got it around 9:30 at night. It took 2 days/4 times mentioning to the staff to possibly get our room cleaned, but after the 4th time we just had to switch rooms because it was past 10pm and still hadn’t been cleaned. This hotel is extremely run down and not taken care of at all. The carpets look like they have never been vacuumed, everything looks very dirty, and the air vent in our first bathroom was just a hole in the wall with a vent covering it and had no duct work. The AC filter was filthy and we had to clean it to have any cool air blowing out of it. We even went to the desk to ask for a box fan and was told they didn’t have any, but if we wanted to run to the nearby Walmart and get o e they closed in 15 minutes. Stay clear of this hotel, pay a few hundred more and go to a branded hotel. I can’t express how horrible this hotel is and how run down EVERYTHING is. From the exterior to the interior, it is all a hot mess. The breakfast was horrible, and out of 5 mornings we only ate breakfast twice, once on our first morning, then the 2nd just to make sure it wasn’t just a one off, only to have a horrible breakfast again. Don’t waste your money on this hotel, stay clear. The bad reviews you have seen are all truth, trust what others have said. THIS IS A HORRIBLE HOTEL!!!!"

Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk

"I have always enjoyed visiting and staying at your casino/hotel for many years. By far, always the best option in BlackHawk! However, this past week’s visit was disappointing. I may be mistaken, but I thought I made a reservation for a premier king size room with more square footage and other amenities? The TV screen was consistently going in and out and refreshing the screen in our room number 1030 last Wednesday night. Then when it was refreshed, the audio was not in sync with the screen. Both my girlfriend, I also had difficulty using our rewards card and more than half the slot machines and video blackjack in your casino. As I said, somewhat of a disappointing visit."
