We really enjoyed our stay and would come again if in the area. This is not a luxury hotel, but it has embraced the charm of an old motor inn … and it works. From the chairs in front of each room (just like Granny had at the lake) to a group of porch swings and a phone booth, it was a fun place to revel in nostalgia. My son and I played mega-chess. Breakfast was fine. The beds were comfortable. And the closeness to Mesa Verde NP made it a home run!
Coordinated chairs … like those from 1965!
Not your typical hotel generic artwork, pictures in our room included video games which matched our room number:1980.

Wonderful place, rooms were big and clean. Bed soft and the breakfast was good. The grounds are a bit run down and could use some sprucing up.

Great, quirky old motel updated with each room decorated according to its room number (I.e. 1980). Great nostalgic items… also enjoyed the game room and outdoor chess board. It is still a motel, but was a wonderful change of pace from your typical hotel. Breakfast was basic, but perfectly fine. Considering the price, it is a great value. We’d stay here again when staying in Cortez… no reason to consider any where else!

I loved this motel. It was just the type of motel that makes road trips fun. The rooms were super clean, the bed was comfortable, and the decor was great. Also enjoyed the outdoor area. Loved being able to sit in the shade at the tables in the center area. Our dog enjoyed the mini dog park where we could take him off leash. Cannot recommend this motel enough. Hope to stay there again.

This is a fun, quirky property, but at the end of the day it is a basic motel. It suited my needs for an overnight stay. I was a little disappointed in the room decor. I expected more decorations fitting the theme. Most of the decor seemed to be pictures hung on the wall that somewhat related to the theme of the room.

We loved the Retro Inn! My kids especially loved the game room and big chess set. We ate just down the road at lounging lizard which they recommended and it was delish. Would recommend Retro Inn if you are looking for something unique to Cortez.

Super cute retro hotel. Cat friendly, thank you!!! Lots of fun to be had on the property. Games, swings, seating areas. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Was able to leave our totes on the back of the jeep. Safe area. Alittle street noise, but expected. Lots of food options in walking distance. Friendly staff. Would absolutely stay again if in the area.

The front staff were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was not. I found half-eaten food inside at the table, I had to ask for paper goods and towels from front office. Door locks were loose and I felt insecure leaving anything in the room.

Love it here! I’m so sad we’re only staying for one night. So charming and cute, everything is beautiful and fun, the rooms are huge, check in was a breeze, and our kids love the game room! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. This is such a great spot.
