Property switched, communication lacking

Apartment we were given did NOT match online listening, though it was clean and in good location. We had booked an apartment with air conditioning that looked different. This property does NOT have air conditioning (and we would not have booked had we known this). We received an email from "House of Travelers" that was unexpected; apparently booking was through a separate agency but this was not communicated through VRBO. Poor communication overall: we requested checkin and property details multiple times without response. We were told management was available 24/7 and they were not; we were also given incorrect information regarding door locking and checkout procedures. The property we were given (though not matching the listing) was okay; management/communication was lacking.

Excellent Place!

We had such a great time in Como. The apartment is well situated, close to the duomo and a lovely walk to the water. We enjoyed the large bathroom and the well equipped kitchen. Very light and charming apartment. The perfect place for a stay in Como!

The location of the apartment was in close walking distance to the train station, as well as centrally located in old town. Lots of places to walk to nearby to eat, shop, etc. The apt owners were super nice, we met them at their office around the corner. They providdd us with some recommendations on where to eat and a map which was appreciated. The apartment itself was perfect. Had everything we needed and was decorated perfectly fitting the 'vintage' theme. It was our only stay out of 5 locations in Italy with an elevator! Would highly reccomend.

Good location, close to shops and restaurants. Elevator worked well. Apartment clean and bed was comfortable. However, we were unable to get all of the lights working so apartment was quite dark in the evening. Kitchen was adequately equipped.

Gute Lage und freundliches Personal

Positiv: Die Wohnung ist gut geeignet für eine Städtetrip in Como. Sehr zentrale Lage. Ausserdem findet man im gleichen Haus auch eine Bar in der man morgens frühstücken kann und abends einen Drink nehmen kann. Es gibt auch leckere, wenn auch etwas kleine, Pizzen zum mitnehmen oder dort essen. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen, auch wenn wir eine Stunde Verspätung hatten. Die Vermieter geben sich sehr viel Mühe und gaben uns auch Tipps für Restaurants, Ausflüge etc. Negativ: Das Apartment hätte etwas sauberer sein können, vor allem die Küche. Diese haben wir aber nicht sehr oft benützt. Es gibt zwar öffentliche Parkplätze, das Angebot ist jedoch knapp. Die öffentliche Tiefgarage ist relativ teuer.
