Great Family Vacation House

This was our second time staying at Mad Mac and we have already booked again for next year! Great house and location. Only recommendations is new mattresses or mattress toppers and bring the ice machine back.

Amazing property

We had a great time staying at Mad Mac. Even with Hurricane Debby threatening our stay, we had a blast. Thankfully, Debby only sent clouds and rain but we managed to swim in the pool daily and walk to the ocean. The accommodations were amazing. We had 14 people and we all were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here when in the OBX again!

The house was extremely well-stocked (especially the kitchen!) and the Roku TVs in every room were great. Amazing stay!!!

We could not have had a better time as there is more than enough room for everyone in our large group to relax without being on top of each other. The highlight of the house was the top floor, and everyone loved how open and spacious it was. The chef quality kitchen was amazing as well, and we were able to cook some amazing meals. Lastly the outdoor area was everything we expected, and the tiki bar was fun. Everyone agreed that if we came back to this part of the outer Banks we would book again 😀 Everyone loved how open and spacious it was

Terrific Stay💕

The home was amazing and the walk to the beach was short, and on blacktop. The kitchen was completely stocked. The unit was very clean upon arrival. I would absolutely book again. If I could have changed anything, it would be the temperature of the pool. It was freezing. We spent no time in the pool due to this.

The house accommodated our families perfectly. Something minor to note… the bedroom/bathroom photos on the website were not accurate. The photos showed 2 bedrooms sharing a Jack n jill full bath. We didn't have that. However, we had plenty of showers, so it was not an issue at all. The kids and adults all had a great time. Thank you!

We were a family of 13 and we enjoyed your home. There was plenty of room for everyone. The pool and hot tub were a hit. The lid to the hot tub has seen better days though. The welcome bag was very thoughtful. The walk to the beach was good for the teenagers who could come and go as they pleased. My adult son took up surf fishing for the first time and both he and his son caught a small fish. My husband and I are limited in our amount of walking but were able to leave the beach on our own when we had enough sun. The beach entry was a nice pathway with no steps as we have experienced in other beach entries. My only critique is that the step up to the kitchen was a surprise and I tripped twice carrying bags from the grocery store. Thank you for the use of your home.

Really liked the house. Close to the beach with a view of the beach. Close enough to all needs like grocery store and some food. Loved having a pool and hot tub. Plenty of refrigeration and the outdoor cabana bar was cool. Used the grill to cook out. I would stay here again if we come back.

Great location!

We had a wonderful time staying here. House was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Bedrooms were a little small but you aren't there to stay in the room! There was plenty room to spread out for our teenagers and their friends. Pool was awesome to have and the hot tub was relaxing. I wold recommend this house to friends for sure. A short walk to the beach and lots of places to ride bikes and go on walks. Make sure you make reservations to eat out in advance since they get booked fast. We ended up cooking a lot at the house. Grill was brand new and super clean! The only downfall I would say for families with smaller children is that there are a lot of stairs outdoors and indoors.

Nice house

Overall, this is a very nice property in a quite neighborhood. The listing is accurate and even came with a few things I don't recall seeing in the listing (two bikes, an inflatable baby pool, strollers, beach toys and a cart to help get stuff to the beach). My only complaint and it's out of everyone's control, is the beach. When high tide is in, you can't really use the beach. the waves come up to the bottom of the dunes. We had to adjust our beach time with the tides.

Mad Macs

All beds are queens and the floor schematic is incorrect. It shows that all 4 queen bedrooms have access to the half baths. That is wrong because only 2 of the bedrooms have access. The basketball hoop is broke and even if it did work, you wouldn't have anywhere to play because you aren't allowed to park on the street. The upstairs pullout couch was also broken. The whole house is a little dated but overall we were pretty happy with our vacation. I don't know if we would stay here again just based on some of the people in our group not liking the beds.

Lovely home for a family vacation

Our family enjoyed staying at Mad Mac this month. Layout was great for a large family, bedrooms all on the same floor, etc. easy walk to the beach,( we rented a golf cart to haul people and things though), and beautiful weather to enjoy the beach. 3 under 2, couldn’t find the baby gates, but management had someone bring new ones the next morning so safety wasn’t a concern.

Great first trip to OBX

Property met expectations. Kitchen is very well stocked except for washcloths and dishtowels. This was not listed on the email of what to bring, and I am not sure why they are not supplied. I sent an email to property manager asking for inventory list, but I did not get a response. This would be extremely helpful to guests because we brought many pool and sand toys, floats, etc which we did not need to bring. Great supply closet with beach chairs, games, toys. The two bicycles need replaced. Loved the volleyball court for evening games, but needs cleaned up. Excellent, quiet location! About 5 min walk to beach hauling all gear. Overall great stay! Would recommend!
