Great location but NOT super clean

This house was in a very nice area and just a short walk to the beach or the bay! The amenities were great as well! However, aside from the house needing a little updating and new carpeting, it was also in need of a better cleaning, there were some dirty areas that had been overlooked by housekeeping and dirty silverware in the drawers and dirty dishes left in the dishwasher upon arrival. Additionally, it may be important to note, that if you are squeamish when it comes to bugs this may not be the home for you. There was a variety of different bugs found all over the home throughout our stay. We kept the vacuum handy to try to keep it all under control.

Cleanliness was a major issue

The good: Corolla light is a solid resort with great amenities like a community pool, basketball courts and tennis. It's a short walk to some decent retail and of course the Corolla light house. The bad: there is a very strong odor of mold in the family (common) areas of the home. Black colored mold is clearly visible when looking at the ceiling as the ceiling shows water damage. There are so many spiders in and around this home. We have stayed in Corolla before and don't remember it being this bad in terms of cobwebs and spiders. In addition we saw several roaches outside the home and a few inside as well.
