Full disclosure an exhausting travel experience arriving off a Redeye in Cancun had me arriving at the hotel in Cozumel around noon and I was really hoping for an easily check in which was not possible, in fact I was told my room wasn’t ready at three either which had my vacation off on the wrong foot. I only mention this as I had witnessed several guest required to wait on rooms also and someone booking here should know the thee o’clock check in is more like the soonest possible check-in and to plan accordingly. In all honesty, they are great about holding your luggage, offering places to change so you can start enjoying the amenities. This facility also offers a lot of evening entertainment if that’s what your looking for, however you should know most run until 11:00pm and many are held out doors and are audible inside lower level rooms which was discovered my first night. The buffet is and nice experience, staff again fantastic, however the food was nothing to write home about. My experience with all all-inclusive resorts have been the same with very average buffets and great food offerings at the sit down restaurants. Here I was traveling with my younger son, so I really can’t commit on the quality of the food at the restaurants. Just to nit-pick a bit the grounds walking paths are very rocky and uneven for those with mobility issues. Finally, the most frustrating thing was some sort of governmental environmental fee which was not initially disclosed, and when they were attempting to collect the fee they placed a note in my room stating the amount, and at check out the amount doubled, then when I confronted them about the change showed them the note, I was quoted yet a third amount. Seems like if this is a legit fee the amount would be set. With that said, it worked out to about 20$ US and wouldn’t keep me from staying their in the future.
