“We wish we had stayed here longer! All the staff at the hotel were lovely and so helpful in every way - they automatically upgraded us to a royal suite at no additional cost and we were amazed by the room and the beautiful view of the Douro river. The in room dining and included breakfast were so delicious and had a lot of variety. Special recognition to Marta for recommending us other cool places to check out for our other stops in Lisbon and Lagos. Would absolutely recommend staying here!”

“We loved the eclectic decor and the garden. We had a bedroom with an attached lounge. Unfortunately due to water damage we could not use the lounge.This did impact our stay with reduced space. The owners were apologetic but their misfortune affected our stay with the use of space. The breakfast and location were great. Overall our stay was impacted with the odour of the flooded room drifting into our sleeping space. Despite apologies from the owners no further compensation or consideration was……

“Practical position to access Porto Town. Plenty buses if you didn’t want to walk. Suite was very well proportioned, clean, comfortable bed and good quality to, coffee machine, kettle etc. We had breakfast 2 mornings and it was delicious, croissants, bread, meat, cheese, jam, yogurt, fruit, orange juice and coffee. Marta, who met us, was so helpful& knowledgeable and always willing to help with any problems. Overall, Mariana Suites proved to an excellent choice. The only thing missing was a……

“The location of the hotel was great. Our room looked out at the river, trams went by often and there is a grocery store less than a block away. The staff is excellent and was very helpful when my husband got sick and needed to go to urgent care. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety, even a few gluten free/non-dairy items. The property could use some deep cleaning, especially the carpets. The road noise does get a bit loud. The room service menu was very limited.”

“We had a lovely stay at the Palacete Severo. Our room was comfortable. The property is unusual and charming. We loved spending time in the library and felt welcome to make ourselves at home. Breakfast was excellent. And the staff incredibly kind and accommodating.”

The location is super convenient, nearly all the tourist attractions are within walking distance. As it locates in the center of the old town, the downside will be the noise, we couldn't sleep well as lots of people in the street making noises during midnight.
