The room was furnished with items that you would get from a garage sale. They were old and overused. The carpet should have been replaced 10 years ago. The bed linen was way past its use, stained and very old. This place has great potential, but apparently the management does not want to invest. My husband and I felt like we could get some kind of disease or bedbugs from how old and overused the furnishings were.

I have to approach this review cautiously because being real, this place is a total dump...but! The location is amazing, we actually didn't feel the need to swim with the manatees because our view right in front of our room (204) was manatee central! Between the view from our room and then going to Three Sisters Springs (well worth the entry fee, gorgeous and hundreds of manatees!) The 3 hr swim with them seemed like overkill. As for the hotel, the gal at the front desk was sweet as pie and the beds were more comfortable than we expected given the condition of the place. It's old, and falling apart and honestly pretty dirty but all of those things could be remedied if the owners chose to do it. It wouldn't take much to turn it from an old dump to a really charming spot despite the age. We enjoyed our stay because we knew what we were getting into. Would we normally book a room like this...NO, but again, the spot is pretty hard to beat and the sunsets were spectacular.

Was poisoned by cleaning solvents in the room slept on the balcony due to no staff to speak to am still trying to get a refund for the second night even though i purchased insurance will never stay here again nor use expedia again the insurance company sent me info but want my bank information when all they have to do is refund the credit card I used to book the room it's awful that I'm having to pay for the first night checked out as soon as somebody got on site the next morning and was met with some not so nice response was told that the hotel would reach out to me about the problem that I had and I've heard nothing from anyone will not send my bank information because you already have it and if that insurance company reached out to me online and demanding my bank information why can't they just refund me through the card that I gave you why can't you delay relay that information

This was hands-down our favorite stay during our Florida road trip. Honestly, if I had trusted some of the online reviews, I wouldn’t have booked it — and that would have been such a loss. This place is being torn down soon to make room for condos, and the new hotel being built next door to this one doesn’t even face the ocean. There’s less than a year left to experience this hidden gem. We absolutely loved it. The room was clean, the staff was genuinely friendly, and the view? Unreal. Every evening we were treated to stunning, magical sunsets. You come here for the view, not the extras — so definitely book one of the colored rooms facing the ocean. We stayed in the baby-blue room on the bottom floor, loved it so much, and ended up adding two extra nights. This isn’t a resort, so if you’re expecting resort-style amenities, this isn’t the place. The pillows weren’t the best (bring your own if you’re picky), but being able to step right outside and launch my kayak into Kings Bay was a dream. Stay here. It is absolutely worth it.
