We had a lovely stay at Downsview, it was extremely comfortable and the best equipped house we have stayed in. We were only three adults plus a dog but it was perfect due to the mobility issues of one of our group.

Relaxing at Downsview.
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Downsview, what a wonderful beachside cottage.the house is spacious and comfortable with amazing views across the beach and the channel.the large family room/kitchen was perfect for our family visit and we were provided with everything we could need for a comfortable stay.
The beds were so comfortable but our favourite spot was the glass balcony looking out across the channel.
We ate at both local pubs,The Zetland Arms and The Rising Sun,the food was great at both venues and I thoroughly recommend them, breakfasts at The Goose on the Green and The Pier Kitchen were also amazing.
We will definitely be returning to Downsview,it was perfect for our family holiday.

Holiday with family
This was one of the best houses we have ever stayed in. It’s in an excellent location so well provisioned. The owners had put in a new cot and high chair at our request for our 2yo granddaughter which was very helpful. The house was clean and comfortable without being too pristine and it was very calm and relaxing. Just right for a family holiday. We loved it and will be back!

Lovely place, needs a little tlc
Lovely place, great location, beach and garden and space in house are fantastic, needs a little tlc, some aspects like sofa, and armchairs need refurbishing or renewing, outside table and chairs need replacing, cleaners need to empty bedroom bins and clean dining chairs.
Beds are very comfortable, never slept so well.
Beach is so quiet, even now in August, literally no one on there.
The property is very spacious and bright. The kitchen was an amazing social space. The location, is peaceful with the sea views and private road. We all had a really lovely time and felt comfortable throughout.

Beautiful house
We were a family group of 8 adults, a baby and two dogs. The house was surprisingly spacious inside, very well equipped, characterful and comfortable. The kitchen was an amazing family space opening onto a well stocked enclosed garden. We were fortunate with the weather and all enjoyed the beautiful location by the pretty pebble beach. Peaceful and quiet with the option of walking into lovely Deal if you’re feeling energetic. We would love to return.

Remarkable house on the seafront
A wonderful house dating from 1905 with lots of original features in combination with a superb kitchen made this stay more than pleasant. The vicinity to the beach and a well kept garden added to a remarkable holiday. Recommended!!

Great for Golfers (and families)
Downsview is a lovely property which was an ideal base for our golf trip to Kent.
Sleeps 6 comfortably. Great location on the beach front and a 10 minute walk to the Zetland Arms.
Very clean and homely - the kitchen is great for getting together as a group.
Quiet with stunning views.
Can highly recommend!

Excellent Customer Service & Property Description
Keepers Cottages provides an excellent service. We stayed at Downsview in Walmer for a long weekend and the property description was clear and accurate for this most comfortable of family houses that is situated right on the beach with fabulous views across the Channel to France. The large, beautifully equipped modern kitchen is superb and provides a central focal point for daily living, family meals and access to a lovely garden with BBQ for outdoor living. We were blessed with warm sunshine and dry weather for the whole time we were there that added to our enjoyment. The coastal path is right outside providing easy walking or cycling into Deal in one direction (passing Walmer Castle) or towards Kingsdown (and the excellent Zeatand Arms gastro pub) and beyond in the other. We could not have had a more enjoyable stay.

Third time at Downsview
The house is practically thoughtfully and generously provided to all guests. The beds are particularly comfortable and the downstairs shower is lovely! There is very very ample living space plus the garden and of course the amazing access to the beach just a moment away. The kitchen is as yours would be at home if you are something of a cook, you will enjoy it. everything works and everything is of a high standard, it feels a bit like going home because you can be comfortable within a few minutes. The only change we would recommend is that the owners consider installing a second shower upstairs, there is a very nice bathroom and separately Loo Upstairs, but a shower would be marvellous. Thank you very much see you again.
Lovely, homely house (a lot bigger than it looks from the pictures), right on the beach. Really well equipped house, especially the kitchen, plenty of herbs, spices and sauces if you wanted to cook.Would like to return one day, nice part of the world, and a fabulous house, thanks for having us x

Perfect Location
The house is very attractive, as are the surrounding gardens. Sea views and access just across the road to the shingle beach were also lovely features. The best view was from the viewing room on the first floor, unfortunately only reached by a somewhat perilous steeply winding staircase with no handrail at the bottom.
We enjoyed the cycle/footpath via which we could enjoy long walks with a wheelchair towards Deal on a flat, smooth surface. But we were disappointed by the lack of disabled access in nearby pubs and eateries.
The large kitchen/diner was very well equipped. We also appreciated the very comfortable beds. Some of the seating in the living room was rather well worn and could do with updating. It was a constant problem trying to watch TV which had no terrestrial aerial and kept warning of no signal. I then managed with some difficulty to get the connection from the BT box working but the BT box often shut itself off after a few hours, particularly annoying when watching Wimbledon. Sorting the connection again wasn’t straightforward. However, the Wi-fi signal was very good and reliable.
My wife is disabled and has great difficulty with her mobility so it was good that she had the bedroom adjacent to the toilet. The bathroom was also in a convenient position next door. However, when in the living room and requiring a visit to the toilet, with my help, it would take a considerable time to get there and back again. If there was any possibility of a further toilet downstairs it would make a big difference, especially I would think if eight people were staying.
We enjoyed our break and whilst we have made some criticisms, we do understand that the accommodation was not specifically advertised as suitable for the disabled. Our main criterion was to have two bedrooms on the ground floor and this was fully satisfied!

Great stay - fab location and amazing kitchen!
We had a great holiday with several members of the family including my elderly mother. She was able to use the downstairs bedroom, bathroom and shower room as she has limited mobility. The location was great for the beach and a swim in the sea! It was also close to the start of the Walmer and Deal Parkrun so we were able to participate in that too. There are some lovely pubs around as well as interesting shops in town. The house was great and it has been modernised well. The kitchen was a lovely space with a view to the sea and garden, it has a large island unit and great table for family meals. It was well equipped and fun to use when cooking together.

Fantastic setting
Downsview is a perfect house for a family holiday. The house is deceptively spacious with lots of places to sit and relax. It’s stylish and although the new kitchen was lovely, retains many original features. I would say the photos do not do the house justice. The two downstair bedrooms were perfect for the grandparents. We loved the upstairs veranda, fantastic just to sit and be! Obviously, being so close to the sea was brilliant and we swam every day.
I have booked with Keepers Cottages before and continue to be impressed by the service provided. They are now my go to company for booking Deal and it’s surrounding areas.

Idyllic seafront dream house
We had a blissful stay at Downsview with our 7month old twins and our miniature dachshund. The house, a delightful Edwardian seaside villa with an air of Poirot, is complimented by a dreamy modern open plan kitchen/living space with disco ball and surround sound and a perfect secure wrap round garden. You can lounge on the sofa and look at the sea or turn on your music make the most of the wine fridge and have an epic kitchen disco. The house is seconds from the dog friendly part of the beach and on a private road making it both beautiful and peaceful and safe for families. My only reservation in recommending it is that even more people will want to stay! We will be back next year.

Stunning view of the sea
We enjoyed our stay at Downsview particularly the beautiful location. Stunning sea view in front of the house and lovely walks to Walmer and Deal along the coast. The house has a fabulous well equipped modern kitchen which opens out into the lovely garden. The stairs up to the top floor are quite awkward for those with mobility issues but there is a lovely room to sit and admire the sea view off of one of the main bedrooms. Apart from the modern kitchen, the rest of the house is styled to suit the age of the house which has been done very well. Very spacious house with lots of rooms.

Wonderful house!
We were so pleased when we arrived at Downsveiw, , lovely traditional rooms with antique furnishings apart from the spectacular kitchen which had everything we needed and where we spent most of our time. Barbecue was spotless too and we also loved the window seat.

Family beach holiday
Have just spent a week in the sun and wind at Downsview .
Perfect location, pretty garden.
The kitchen at Downsview was amazing—- obviously fairly newly updated. , as was the downstairs bedroom onto the garden .
The upstairs bedrooms need updating now and the bathroom and then it will be an amazing house for family holidays .

Gorgeous house
Thank you for a wonderful stay. The bedrooms and bathroom downstairs enabled me to bring my elderly Dad who lived locally for many many years. The house is so well equipped and comfortable and the location is to die for. I only wish we could have stayed longer
