「For me the staff and the welcome made this such a lovely stay. I was a little confused when I arrived as had to go upstairs to the bar to check in but the warm welcome by the owner and the staff made me really feel at home. I was a little worrIED about there being a lot of stairs and the very kind and friendly owner gave me a room on the first floor so I didn’t have to climb too many. My kettle wasn’t working and there was no tv remote and when I told them the kettle wasn’t working replaced...

「We were expecting a well maintained, boutique hotel, sadly it was not. Although refurbished in Nov 2014, the state of our room (1) lacked maintenance. Although each was relatively minor, when 10 issues are present, then the result is a disappointment. I relayed these to the receptionist on departure, and she seemed reluctant to seriously acknowledge the problem. This summed up the general feeling of laissez-faire.」

「Winterstoke is a HUGE house with 4 massive double bedrooms and a large twin room. This does not feel like a holiday rental, it feels like a home. I have never stayed in a property that is so well appointed, every detail is covered. The quality of the house is really fantastic and incredibly comfortable. The back garden is lovely with a great area for entertaining, unfortunately it was freezing so we could not make use of it. We had a baby with us and the owner (sheila) had EVERYTHING...

「The shared shower was cramped, dark, and you easily bang your head. Not only that you get a bang on the door by management stating checkouts 10am even though I was there 2 nights. Everytime you left the room you're interrogated by management wanting to know your every move. If you want a peaceful stay this isn't it. Needless to say I didn't stay the 2nd night found somewhere else.」

「Clean rooms , w/c seat was broken , window seal was sticky so item's stuck to the surface . Staff were really nice , the bar was good . Great to have free parking . Overall not bad but not memorable enough to return .」

「A very pleasant and well located place to stay in Deal. All of the staff were exceptionally pleasant and very proactive in being of help and assistance. The food is fresh and well presented and the rooms clean and comfortable. We would have no hesitation to use the hotel again if and when we return to the the area.」

「I had a room on the top floor. It was bright, spacious, clean and it had a great view. I was grateful for the AC in my unit because it was so hot in Margate when I was there. The continental breakfast delicious, lots of choice, the coffee was great and it was included. LOVED IT. Great location right beside the Turner Museum and a short walk to Cliftonville.」

「Hotel was in a lovely setting right on the river.It did have bad reviews but dont take any notice of them .The room was spotless and well equipped and overlooked the river .We had dinner there and food was good the only slight issue is the menu which should have a few more normal dishes but apart from that it was good as was the breakfast served looking out at the river.Parking was no problem loads of room.We will be going back later this year.」

「Excellent location. En-suite room. Friendly staff. Quirky old Victorian style bathroom with shower in roll top bath (would not be suitable for those with mobility issues, as they would have difficulty getting in and out of the bath). It was very hot weather and only one opening window. The fan helps, but could do with air conditioning. The room is fine for a couple of nights. We had an enjoyable atay」
