This property is as advertised and is a lovey get away! The host was super accommodating and helped us when there was a travel disruption that caused our trip to go an extra day. The baby gear here was also fantastic and saved us a huge amount of effort to bring ours from home. We will be staying here again!

We enjoyed the 4th of July holiday at the Turtle Retreat. We enjoy our stacation every year in Del Mar and this year was no exception. This adorable cottage has an excellent location just a block or so off of the beach. We were able to easily walk to Downtown Del Mar, back and forth to the SD Fair and into Solana Beach for restaurants, drinks and fun. We will absolutely stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay at Turtle retreat. It is a lovely place with lots of well thought out details to make it very comfortable. It is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood with close beach access to beautiful Del-Mar beach. The restaurants and shops in town are nearby. The host was so nice to work with and communication was excellent. We will definitely be back for another trip.

This place was perfect for us. Extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked breakfast every morning and enjoyed a glass of wine in the evenings on the back deck. We took morning and afternoon walks on the beach which was just a few minutes walk away from our front door. We look forward to a future stay. Thanks for hostessing us.

Every morning we walked two short blocks from the house to take a walk on the beach and swim in the ocean. We would repeat this every evening at sunset! The house is small, but perfectly outfitted with beach toys, wagon, towels, etc. We ate our meals at the outdoor dining patio and had easy access to the washing machine and dryer. It was perfect and stress-free!

We had a great stay at the Turtle Retreat. We loved being so close to the beach! It is an easy walk with kids and the wagons provided at the house are very helpful for beach gear! The unit was set up so well and our family of 4 was very comfortable the entire time. Brenda was very responsive and helpful during our stay. We’ll definitely stay again when we’re back in Del Mar! Our family had a great stay! Loved how close we were to the beach, so we could pop back for our kiddo's nap time. Enjoyed the amenities of included high chair, Pack N Play and beach toys. Close drive or mile(ish) walk to many great dining options. Great kitchen and outdoor dining made staying in nice too. Loved watching surfers at Powerhouse Park. Would advise light sleepers to pack ear plugs for sleeping as the Amtrak passes at the end of the block, multiple times in the night.

We stayed at the house with a small child and had a great time. Brenda (the host) was incredibly helpful and asked in advance if we needed anything. There was a surprise for the child, a pitcher of cold water in the refrigerator, nice and clean house, and a location that's 5 minutes from the beach. Brenda was friendly, responsive, and easy to talk to. The house felt like home and was very inviting.

This is quite literally a block from the beach. It’s a perfect house and they provide so much stuff if you have kids (wagons, Sand toys, pack n play, high chair, seat etc) also love that the patio and front is fenced off. It’s technically a duplex but you don’t notice until you happen to cross paths in the front. I would definitely rent again and plan to have my sister and her kids in the other part of the duplex. Great place for two families that need a little space.

It was our first time to San Diego and our first time traveling as a family of four. We couldn’t have imagined a better visit. The hosts were so accommodating and had the best form of communication. The house was kept like a home. The outdoor space was such a safe place for our kids to wonder, explore and play. The bedrooms didn’t leak a lot of light which was great for kids sleep. The house truly felt like a beach home cottage for a family. The neighborhood was so safe and the space made parking hassle free and worry free for a rental cars safety. Thank you for such special memories in such a perfect getaway.

My family had a good (not great) experience at this property. The location is simply fantastic, just steps away from one of the most family-friendly stretches of Del Mar beach. The house comes fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a beach getaway, from chairs to umbrellas and toys - perfect for families or small groups. What also stood out was the responsiveness and accommodation of the host/property manager. However, I was taken by surprise when I discovered that the property consists of two adjoining units that share parking, laundry, and beach accessories. I may have missed it but I don’t believe this was explicitly mentioned in the listing, and this might be important for some guests to know in advance. We also encountered an issue with the tub backing up, and the host’s suggestion to use a plunger to resolve it left us a bit hesitant, especially with kids involved. Overall, we had a nice stay and would recommend this property to anyone seeking a quiet retreat with easy beach access, as long as you’re comfortable with a basic beach cottage setup.

This was our third time renting from Beachhaus and our stay surpassed our other five-star stays. The Turtle Retreat is really well equipped. We invited friends for dinner on two occasions and I had all the kitchen utensils necessary to make lovely meals. The back patio table is a perfect spot for morning breakfast, afternoon reading, and dinner. We have a daughter who lives in San Diego and getting into the city or meeting her in La Jolla was easy. The beds and linens are top notch too. In short, I can fully recommend the Turtle Retreat.

This is probably the best managed property we've ever stayed at. Communication was incredible from start to finish. I don't think there is one thing they didn't think of with this house when it came to supplies. Everything was perfectly laid out for a great experience! Would definitely stay here again.
