Great Property Great Location

Great stay ( minor things were taken care of right away ) very nice property - clean everywhere- easy excess to beach- pool- shopping- restaurants etc. Definitely would stay here again!

Awesome location!!!

We stayed here for a week and early October! The place was very neat and clean. Great view perfect atmosphere! We stay at this resort before this is a great condo!

Everything we expected!

This unit was amazing. It was perfect for my family of 5. One teenager, one pre teen and a 7 year old. Everything was clean, organized and we had everything we needed. The unit was stocked with beach toys, a cooler, beach chairs and a very unique private elevator entry that made us feel very secure. Communication with the rental company was impeccable. Any question or request that we had the response time was prompt and informative. Looking forward to returning to this exact location! The only thing that I wish was different are the palm trees in front of the resort that mildly blocks the complete shore view but this did not hender the quality of our stay. 100% recommend!

Great experience, love the area, the property and the condo

The property at Silver Shells was excellent and safe. Loved having our own parking space close to the elevator. The unit needed some updates, comforters soiled, toilets needed maintenance, kitchen cabinets would not shut, stove needed cleaned, faucet needed changed in kitchen. Otherwise, unit was good, roomy and comfortable. Loved the view from the balcony and the elevator straight into the condo, convenient. We had some problems with a couple of key cards when we first got there, but was resolved the next day. Great location in Destin and lookin forward to our next visit.

Memorial Day Weekend 2024

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at this property during Memorial Day weekend and had a great week. The property was very clean and the location was super convenient. We did have to call maintenance for a broken bed, but the management company responded quickly and actually had the bed frame rebuilt within 6 hours after the call.The grounds and pool area are very well maintained and the beach is beautiful. The beach is private so you do have to pay for umbrellas since you can not bring your own onto the private beach.Two chairs and one umbrella during this time cost us $70 a day and since there were 5 of us it was double.There is drink and food service on the beach, which is very nice and security does patrol the beach. We would definitely book this property again.

Fall Retreat

Love the Silver Shells location. Our condo was not very clean--toilets were not clean, and floors were very dirty. We were told we would have 6 wrist bands provided and there were only 4. When we requested someone to clean the toilets and bring us more wrist bands we were told they would--NO ONE ever came! The kitchen linens were very limited. We were disappointed as this was our 4th time to stay at Silver Shells. In the future we will seriously look at other options in the area.

Perfect Vacation

This area is beautiful! Next vacation I would love to bring my sons and grandchildren for sure for my next stay. Although had some trouble with getting into building on arrival. Codes did not work and luckily someone let us in front entrance after struggling. Wish there would be more amenities for the properties as toilet paper, Paper towels and garbage sacks for we arrived with Uber and our rental car was not accessible till a few days later from another family member. Also, when describing where trash dispenser is please indicate it is by back door for we never used the back door during our stay other than first entering unit. Otherwise, all in all a beautiful place and I would defiantly stay again if this unit would be available.

Poor communication and horrible check in process with the management company. I will NEVER book thru Blue Beach again. The floors were dirty throughout the unit. The 2nd master bedroom was at least 10 degrees warmer than the remaining unit. We had to buy portable fans to make the room tolerable to sleep. Very disappointing

Won’t stay at this unit again!

The pictures grossly misrepresent the unit. There is not a square inch of this place that doesn’t need updating. Cabinets don’t close, furniture is beyond old, washer and dryer are so old the dryer vent folded in half when removed to empty and dryer left black smudges on our clothing so we got to bring two weeks worth of laundry home, we were there for two weeks and like things clean vacuum did not work at all! One of the toilets ran every ten minutes which is a waste of water and annoying. Very disappointing VRBO and owner are misrepresenting this unit. We won’t be using VRBO again.

Renters Beware

The few most important things to me while visiting Destin is my balcony view, my beach chair set up to see the view, and decent mattresses. This unit does NOT provide an unobstructed view of the gulf. Palm trees are right in the line of sight so you only get small peaks of the gulf. This property rental group does not have a relationship with the chair rental company, so no vouchers are provided for a beach umbrella and chairs. At the price of this unit, you still have to pay an additional $1000k to rent two sets of chairs and umbrellas. Many other rentals provides this service for free. So if sitting in front of the gulf is important to you, be prepared to pay a hefty price to do that. The mattresses were terrible. The washing machine ruined our clothes; it was filthy and our clothes came out stained with a black substance. The unit is large; but completely dated. Again, at this price I was VERY disappointed in this unit. I personally would never rent this unit again and I would never rent from Beach Blue Properties.

Beautiful resort, security needs improvement

Beautiful resort, we enjoyed our stay immensely. However, the security of the property could use improvement. The elevator in this property opens directly into the unit. You must have a key card to access each unit. However, there could be people accessing other floors on the elevator when it stops in your unit. This did not feel safe at all. Not to mention that I'm sure maintenance workers could have a master key that could also access your unit without your knowledge. Also, there is one door that opens to an outside corridor. That door does not have a deadbolt or latch. It only has a simple lock on the door knob. If I was staying here alone with my kids I would not have felt safe at all!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Good. However, I expected a better condo appearance and maintenance level for the premium rate that was charged. Some of the failing items included poor functioning toilets (running constantly, float sticking, and clogging repeatedly); paint peeling; and sliding doors (sash damage and one door not able to lock). Generally, though, good space, pool, beach access and furniture - at a premium price.

Perfectly relaxing!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fantastic view from the living space and two main bedrooms. The sunset is blocked by another building nearby but we loved being able to lay in bed and see the sunrise! Furnishings/decor were a little dated but everything was very clean, adequately stocked with kitchen utensils and we loved the private elevator opening right into the space. Sometimes the key cards wouldn't open the main lobby doors or the pool gate which was frustating but it only seemed to be a problem very early in the day. Very nice gym facilities with well-maintained equipment and received wonderful service from both the spa and Ruth's Chris that are also on site. It was December so it was a bit too cool for the pool even though it was heated and the hot tub was usually crowded but the jacuzzi tub in the room was just right! Loved being able to walk to The Back Porch for delicious food/drinks and being located right next the the state park meant that our beach walks were serene and picturesque. We would definitely stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our second time staying at Silver Shells and love the location, the view, the beach and the fabulous pool and TIKI bar. It's cool how the elevator's take you directly to your condo. The condo has aged a little but was still nice and clean. Property management was fabulous and responsive. My only complaints are that if felt awkward having the back door to this condo in our youngest son's room. He could have came and gone as he pleased so depending on age of children, I wouldn't want that. And we had to pay $125 to rent beach chairs each day. But again - beatiful place and best beach!

Beautiful place

Our stay was very nice. Communication with property manager was easy. Check in was a little awkward but once we got in everything was great! Location is very nice, love the pool area and the access to the beach. Lots of teenagers here so our teens were happy that they had people to hang out with. Beach was beautiful. Wish the unit came with chair and umbrella service for the price … it seemed like there were tons of chairs and umbrellas that weren’t being used but were owned by the resort but we couldn’t use them 💁‍♀️

Plummers were sent out Thursday, Friday, Saturday. The problem would be the same as soon aS WE TRIED TO USE IT. tHE WATER HAD TO BE CUT OFF SO IT WOULD QUIT RUNNING. VERY INCONVENIENT!!!!I HAD TO GO TO SOMEONE 'S BATH AND DURING THE NIGHT I WAS EMBARRASSED !!! They sent an "engineer" out Saturday afternoon. He fixed the simple problem and apologized for the inconvenience. He was very nice and said it should have been fixed the first time out. Not the fourth!!!
