"The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a holiday on Lewis. The rooms are spacious, the community shop is near by, and there a many places to walk. It’s like home away from home and the perfect place to explore the isle of Lewis."

"This lovely cottage was just what we wanted for our 5 days on the Isle of Skye! Remote and private, but we drove all over Skye to see the sights. We were so happy to have this cozy cottage to return to each evening. The view is fantastic, and the small town of Dunvegan is charming. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for relaxation and immersion in Skye!"

"Cozy cabin with a stunning view. This was the perfect escape and we loved waking up to the beautiful views everyday. It is close to the Quiraing and Storr hikes, as well as kilt rock lookout. The lock on the door was a little hard to work and I think could be fixed/replaced, but otherwise the stay was perfect. Overall, would highly recommend this for a stay and would definitely stay here again. "

"We had a wonderful week at the Backrest in early May. The property has all the creature comforts you might need on your stay. The property is very cosy and warm and in a quiet location over looking the loch. "

We really loved the location- it was very quiet, we had access to a small grocery store right down the road, and were close to many of the top spots to visit on Skye.
