“Room was good, bed comfy, shower worked well. It’s in the middle of town so there is some noise, especially on a Saturday night, but to be expected. Checking in was easy although it would have been helpful to have two room keys. The woman on the desk did not seem entirely in the same world as everyone else. Parking can be a problem but usually can park in town square (which you need to pay for, either in cash/card or by downloading the local app). Place fairly clean, tables for breakfast……

The quality of the shamoo/conditioner was not very good in my opinion. I found the pillows were useless, too airly and too soft, feels like no substance in them. “Fantastic stay between Bath & Stonehenge. Surrounding towns provide tonnes of history, monuments and pleasant hills. Great carpark and good showers. It was an unusual hot night and the room had a fan!!! Great staff, I recommend.”

“Helpful and friendly staff, very clean room”

“The hotel is very tired, but the owners are trying to tidy it up and decorate. The facilities in the bedroom were poor, nowhere to hang clothes, curtains don't close tv didn't work. Having said that, it is only rated a 2 star and I will certainly stay again both for the quirkiness and the lovely staff.”

“I had a warm welcome and my case was taken up to my room. The room was large with king sized bed. All clean, dated, but that suited the age of hotel! There was a small table with kettle and a selection of tea, coffee etc. Large en-suite with large shower. Lots of choices on breakfast menu and cooked freshly. Parking was easy. Location was excellent. 5 minutes walk to Lacock Abbey. Lacock is a very small place but very interesting.”
