VT Tour & Spring Break

We had a great stay at this property in Draper during our family spring break trip, which also included a tour of Virginia Tech. The location was perfect—less than an hour drive to campus. The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It was a great base for both exploring the area and spending quality time together as a family. And the dogs absolutely loved the yard! Overall, a very positive experience—we’d definitely stay here again!

Great stay in Draper, VA

The house was such a treat! We stayed for my son's graduation from VA TECH. It was close enough for an easy commute but far enough that we didn't have to deal with noisy parties. The house is beautiful and had plenty of room for us to gather together or seek out some privacy. Shower in master bedroom was 10 out of 10! The pool table kept people entertained, while the kitchen was a delight to work in.

Warm and cozy Christmas!

Our family started our Christmas vacation on the 23rd and stayed until the 26th. Tim’s home is cozy and beautiful. The lake is so pleasing to look at and all of the beautiful trees with wildlife running about. My dog loved the big yard and was exhausted every evening from exercise. Everything we needed to make this trip perfect was there! Will definitely be back!

A football game plus a whole lot more

A spacious home in a perfect setting. Thoughtfully furnished for large groups. The setting is serene and peaceful with lots to do in the immediate vicinity. Really enjoyed Draper Mercantile, the new ice cream shoppe and the Spinning Jenny Winery, all within five minutes. Deer everywhere you look in the mornings. Would definitely recommend and book again.

Great place!

This is my second time at Tim’s place and we NEVER go to the same place twice but this is the exception. Fantastic location. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds and furniture. Excellent communication with Tim. I’d stay here again!

Mother Nature’s Oasis

Beautiful home with spectacular views. The home has everything to make a stay comfortable with thoughtful touches that make you feel at home. The owner provided a clean, entertaining family experience for my wife, 20 year old daughter, and myself with memories that will last a lifetime. It was a peaceful escape from the chaos of the DC region.

Problems in the kitchen and lack of handrail on stairs

House was very nice and clean. The porches, particularly the screened in porch were very nice. Access to the lake was good for paddleboarders but the deck was in very poor condition. We were most disappointed with the stove, small appliances (toaster oven, waffles maker) and outside grill. All were filthy. Owner did come in to clean the stove and grill, but we did not use outside grill as it was questionable. Cooking utensils were in poor condition, glad we brought some of our own. The microwave had no lighted indicators so you guessed about power and time. the stove had one burner control that was loose so control was questionable. Also would appreciate a full hand railing going down to lower level. One member of our group has some difficulty walking and the handrail did not go all the way to the bottom floor requiring holding onto wall to get down.

Beautiful lakefront home

We stayed in Draper with adult children to visit relatives in Virginia for 7 days. This home is not only beautiful inside and out, it has everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. Three and one half baths, large kitchen with all cooking and dining items to use, grill, outdoor pizza oven (big hit for us!), lots of outdoor seating, two kayaks, plenty of family games and reading materials. Pool table , several TVs, movie room with projector and large DVD library. The home was also nicely decorated and CLEAN. The owner was so quick to respond to any messages we sent, not that there were any issues but just some questions and clarifications. Would love to return next time we visit our Virginia family ❤️

Wonderful Getaway for the Family!

Fantastic, beautiful house

I rented this house for the weekend of my son's graduation from Radford. All of our family and friends raved about how awesome the house is.. my son said it looks like Kevin Costner's house on Yellowstone. A great plus is that the house is dog friendly, my Chihuahua loved it too. Thanks for being a great host.

Second Stay

We have a yearly trip to commemorate our mom. This is our second stay. The property is lovely. There's really one master bedroom, two kids rooms, a game room with a futon, and a basement room with no windows. It works fine for us. The kitchen is fully stocked. There was some weird trash, the desk in the game room was full of candy and the fireplace was full of old voided checks. My sister said there was white pet fur on the master bed. Regardless, we had a wonderful time. The proximity to the Draper Mercantile was perfect.

Great family home

My husband and I spent Thanksgiving at this house with daughter, son in law and 3 grandchildren. The house is spacious and comfortable. We spent time inside and out. Grandkids loved the outdoor volleyball court and indoor shuffleboard. They also enjoyed the media room. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need for meal preparation.

Relaxing and well provisioned

This home is beautiful and extremely comfortable. We appreciated all of the TVs, the billiards room, and the very well appointed kitchen. We like to cook and bake, so it was wonderful to have all of the necessary pots pans and utensils on hand. We are not local to the area, so we were not aware of the drought or the status of the lake in front of the property. Sort of a downer upon arrival in that we thought we would be on the water. We enjoyed the dock except our dogs would not stay out of the mud and we had to bathe them. We are hoping to return next year for a longer stay!

Really gorgeous slice of heaven

It is a beautiful home and the setting is just lovely. Owner very helpful and home was clean and well stocked. We stayed for a Tech game. The little town was adorable and we look forward to returning.
