“Comfortable bed, good shower, tea & coffee making facilities Room was cold about 3/4am but we found a blanket in the cupboard ”

“There is a large car park but it can get busy at peak times. Register your car at the bar. Our fourth visit in the last year. We like it. Staff, food, atmosphere and location. There are a few maintenance issues that could be addressed, e.g. dripping taps, shower door off runners and touch up of decor in places. We expect to return.”

Our family got together because of bereavement in the immediate area and we all stayed at there The Lion Hotel. It enabled us to get together and concentrate on our family. “I recently stayed here for a training event. The facilities were generally ok and the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was good. Some parts of the property do feel a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. The main issue I had was with the shower in my room, which had no cold water at all and was boiling hot. Unfortunately, I only discovered this in the morning, so there wasn’t really time for it to be fixed before I had to leave.”

“The room was great. We stayed in 1A. Clean and spacious. Just needs a mirror in the room so you dont have to stand with bathroom door open when drying hair. Breakfast was yummy. Plenty of continental to choose from. Staff very courteous and professional. ”
