「Beautifully renovated and clean room in a small building next door to the pub. We both found the mattress on our bed to be a bit too firm though. It made a lovely base for a couple of days exploring the area and the nearby beach (15 minute walk) is stunning. For a longer stay the room may possibly be a bit small but for two nights it was ideal. Good breakfast and the meals in the pub were very good without being overly expensive. 「What a fabulous friendly place. We came on Friday night when they were having a charity night quiz. What an amazing atmosphere the people were just so lovely. We’ll be back again and hopefully join in this time. The landlady Clair had seen us standing and came over and found us a table. Although we didn’t have tickets for the quiz we felt very much a part of it Thank you」

「Couldn’t recommend The Tenpus at Charlton Hall more! We stayed in one of the lakeside lodges and had such a lovely relaxing time. We had planned to eat at the Lobster Pot in Bamburgh but lucky for us they were a chef down and couldn’t accommodate us so we ate in the Tempus restaurant which was outstanding. I didn’t catch our servers name but he was so friendly and made us very welcome. Food was delicious. Can’t wait to book again… absolutely loved everything about our visit.」

「Disappointing from start, exterior not welcoming and garden neglected. First time we used the shower the door fell off, reported it to the host who said it’s always doing it. Floor was wet through every time we had a shower. Asked for poached egg on toast for breakfast and were told she would do the eggs and we had to do the toast but no times given so eggs went cold while waiting for toast. 「We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Our room (127) was spacious and well equipped, in a quieter position looking over the car park away from but conveniently located for the main road. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent too. Would definitely recommend and stay here again 👍」
