Sparkling new, fabulous river view, ideal location
This modern, cozy apartment is fabulously located in town. We loved walking a few steps across the street to the indoor market hall and to Leonard’s delicious coffee house. The high end amenities, excellent beds and bedding and two bathrooms were luxurious. The view over the river is really special. Although it was a chilly day, we sat in the protected nook on the deck in the sun comfortably for hours. We were lucky to see a river otter swimming and diving. “An otter on the Wear, you may see but once a year…” We so appreciated the biscuits James provided and the fridge stocked with milk, pastries, fruit and a bottle of bubbly. Every detail has been considered. We highly recommend the River Retreat. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Aesthetically Beautiful as was the location , and made to feel so welcome from James and Trish who’s attention to detail surpasses any residence we’ve ever stayed at , couldn’t fault it and can’t wait to return ! We Absolutely loved it !! George
