"Fab resort, excellent quality accommodation, everything well maintained. Surf lessons well organised and good value for money! On site surf shop well stocked. Restaurant great, dealt well with my mums dietary requirements. Only issue we had was reception not being contactable until 10am, we couldn’t book the buggy to take our things to the car. The weather was terrible, after 10am staff put the phone on permanent engaged tone. When I asked about that, the staff member was quite curt, said she...

"Lodge was very modern, clean and exceptionally well stocked with everything you need for your stay. Communication from the hosts was excellent too. Great view of the sea, i could happily wake up to that every morning! Can't comment on the onsite facilities as we didn't use them, we would walk into town where there are several pubs/restaurants which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely be back. "

11. Mounthskip Lodges- Pentland Lodge

Gorebridge

"The views were amazing overlooking horses in a pasture. My family said the jacuzzi was great. We didn’t use the sauna. Unfortunately, there were a lot of little things about the condition of the property that we found unacceptable. The is no dryer and they only supply one bath and one hand towel per person. No way to quickly dry wet towels. The washing machine had mold which the owner came over and cleaned, but it shouldn’t have been allowed to get that bad in the first place."

Top East Lothian Hotel Reviews

Apex Grassmarket Hotel

10/10 Excellent

Market Street Hotel

8/10 Good

"The hotel is located well and I would stay here again if I needed to but would probably choose to try another hotel next time I’m in Edinburgh. The room was serviceable, quite small with little storage and the view was a fire exit stairs ( we spend most of our time out and about so not a massive issue ). My partner felt let down that the cleaning staff came to make up the room late in the afternoon after we had been out all day and we were about to start to get ready for a dinner reservation. Getting seated and served in the bar was initially easy but depending on the staff it was sometimes hard to order another round or get the bill."
