The problem was Hotels.com took my points, took my money from credit card, then didn't communicate the reservation to the hotel. And there was no one to call to get it straightened out. So I paid myself. Last roundup for me and Hotels.com. "

"I travel to Iowa City monthly, and two of my usual hotels have recently closed, so I finally decided to try the Garden Inn. It has always been a little more expensive, but this was a celebration weekend, so we went for it. Overall, we had a good time. The parking garage was being renovated, and I still had to pay $15 to park in a farther garage across the street. Not a huge deal, but a helpful heads-up for other travelers. The elevators were very slow, but the view from the 9th floor was beautiful. The staff was extremely nice, the housekeepers were so friendly, and the little lobby store had lots of treats for my boys. I also loved that they had a hot tub. A little overpriced in my opinion, but still a nice hotel for a treat every now and then."
