This is a wonderful, spacious, traditional seaside townhouse, built at a time when wealthy Edinburgh families also bought a house by the sea in order to cool off on those hot summer days.
Laid out over 3 floors, the wide staircases are a feature, particularly the winding staircase between the first and second floors (note; they're a bit too wide for standard stair gates, so may not be ideal for young children). The Living Room is positioned on the first floor, as was the norm for the time, with 3 large windows that let the light stream in. From the top floor there are views over the roof tops to Arthur's Seat from the front and across the Firth of Forth to Fife at the rear.
The house offers 4 bedrooms, Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Family Bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, a WC on each floor, full gas central heating, high pressure hot water system, Primary Bedroom with ensuite, WiFi, Smart TV, travel cot, high chair, iron and ironing board, hair dryers, linen and towels. Hopefully everything you need!

Wat een fantastisch huis. De keuken was meer dan volledig uitgerust. De ligging was perfect. Vlak bij het strand en de hoofdstraat waarvan je met de bus binnen een half uur in het centrum stond. De communicatie met de eigenaar was ook goed. Hij reageerde snel en was behulpzaam

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Patrick très disponible et réactif, avait très bien organisé notre accueil par Roselyn la voisine. Maison propre, lits confortables, cuisine très bien équipée, plats, robots, assiettes, verres ….( nous ne l’avons utilisée que pour le petit-déjeuner), salles de bain propre avec sèche-cheveux et lisseur. La maison est très bien située près de la plage et d’un arrêt de bus ( le 26) permettant de rejoindre le centre d’’Efimbourg sans problème. Je recommande vivement.

We loved our stay in this beautiful house. Nicely decorated, including lots of lovely pictures. A very well stocked kitchen, with everything you might need for cooking. Plenty of space, lovely living room.The house is in a great location, 2 minutes from the beach, shops etc 1 minute in the other direction. Regular buses take you right into Edinburgh within 1/2 hour. Would highly recommend this home.

Great communication when booking. Lovely house - so convenient for the beach, promenade and coffee shops! A warm welcome from Roslyn with the keys, and a warm house - very much appreciated on a blustery weekend. Comfy beds, great bathroom, well equipped kitchen and the perfect lounge for watching the Winter Olympics !

The house was brilliant and felt like a home. It was warm and comfortable and had everything we expected and more. The location was brilliant with lots of place to eat and drink on the doorstep. There’s also a supermarket a few minutes walk away. The bus service into Edinburgh city was so easy to use and very frequent. Communication was excellent. Parking outside the house was challenging but there’s plenty of other options. This is one of the best holiday homes we’ve rented and we will be back!

Patrick couldn’t have been more helpful in anticipation of our visit. The house is very well equipped, beds comfortable and spotless, showers lovely and hot. The bus service is minutes away direct to the city and plenty shops/bakeries nearby for provisions. The only mark-down is on the ‘child-friendly’ question which Patrick answers in the description of the property so on your own head be it! The stairs not suitable for stair gates would be the only issue with smallies - otherwise a great spot near the beachfront with the kids. We all enjoyed our stay and the friendly host Roslyn was lovely too. Many thanks!

An absolutely wonderful home for a large family or group of friends to stay at! There were 7 of us in our party and the home was a great size for us. All of us having beds, ease of use of the restrooms, and a dining room large enough to accomodate those late night meals after a day exploring the city. Couldn't have been better for us!

Cannot say enough good about the property. Firstly, we were Not downtown Edinburgh, which whilst delightful, is tiring and retreating to the coastal stay was so welcome. A close walk to the beach, lovely bistros and shops. Downtown Porto Bello has everything you need, and the coop is half a block from the house. I really couldn't have planned it better. The one year old loved the playgrounds and beach and so many dogs. I loved coming back to the house after a long touring day and eating well in our well appointed kitchen and having a quiet retreat away from the glitz of Prince Ave. Interior was interesting as the original building design is left in place. The parlor is lovely and the dining room was great to gather the family. We didn't spend time outside garden behind the house as the weather was so beautiful it was usually dark on our return. The beds were firm and bedding was lovely. We had room to chill out (baby needed naps) and again, so close to everything. Also, the bus to town is direct and pleasant and we parked the car and didn't move it till we went to Bannockberg. So nice not having to find parking downtown. As you can tell, we really enjoyed the house, the area and the people. Thank you Patrick and your neighbor too!

Het huis ligt in een rustige straat, parkeren lukte goed in de nabije omgeving. Het is vlakbij het strand, waar wat eet en drinktentjes zijn. Ook vlakbij de High Street met winkels, supermarkten, restaurants en de bushalte. Prima verbinding naar Edinburgh (30-40 min). Het huis is geweldig met een grote keuken voorzien van alles dat je nodig hebt, een gezellige zitkamer en 4 ruime slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. Er is ook een tuin met een lounge set en middag zon.Kortom top locatie en top huis!
