This place was absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations. Not much could have improved our stay other than to have stayed longer! The photos do this place no justice at all. It is so much nicer in person than we expected. The location is perfect. You can sit on the screened in front porch, or in the living area and see the ocean. We were able to watch the seagulls and pelicans right from the couch while drinking coffee. There is plenty of seating and space because there are 2 living areas and 2 tables and barstools. We have a large family and this was ideal to eat dinner together and play games. The house has a well stocked kitchen, games and books, and all of the furniture is comfortable. Our son played darts with his wife for hours. The bedding is comfortable and there is plenty of sleeping space. Most of the rooms have ceiling fans and the AC kept the house very comfortable. Everything was clean when we arrived. Wi-Fi was quick and easy to connect to. Downstairs there are some beach chairs and items and an additional fridge that made it easy to keep enough ice for our beach coolers. There is a private outdoor shower , and 2 additional hoses that were handy to hose sand off of the dog. Everyone enjoyed the swing and one of our kids actually fell asleep on the hammock. This place is ideal for families with dogs because not only are they dog friendly, but there is a large back yard to walk and play in. The management company was very convenient to communicate with through email and provided extra info about the area.
A note for anyone that has never been to Edisto- the whole island is quiet and not “touristy”, a great place to visit for a slower pace. However there is only a small Food Lion grocery store and limited restaurants, so plan on bringing in groceries and cooking in. We had an “adventure” trying to eat Sunday because the few restaurants had long wait times, or were closing early. We ended up riding up to Hollywood to shop for groceries at the Piggly Wiggly. We had good experiences eating dinner at Coot’s, ice cream at 3 Gulls Creamery and dinner at Dockside. Everything else about Edisto is ideal though.
