New York Eldridge Street Synagogue Hotels

"When I went to purchase an item from the store located in the lobby, there was no one present at the front desk. I waited for a short period and then left to look for a nearby store. Approximately 40 minutes later, when I returned, the front desk was still unattended. The same two individuals who had been waiting earlier were still there waiting for someone to return to the desk. The curtains in my room were dirty. The phone in the room did not work I had to call front desk with my cellphone to request shower gel. The toilet would not flush I had to lift up the top and put water I. The tank for the toilet to flush. "

"This is a nice, well located (for Downtown), low key place to stay. It also has a good restaurant/bar."

"I wanted to give them a 5 star rating, but... when we checked in, the room we got was literally in the lobby area so it was very loud all night long, minus the sirens and such of NYC, which isn't anything to complain about, that's just NYC sounds... between the front desk staff talking and whistling and a young child screaming at the top of her lungs from midnight until 3am it was one of the more torturous sleeps I've had in a while. The breakfast was all processed foods, so we didn't eat it. Our room had leftover luggage in it when we arrived. The room seemed very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Try to not be on the 1st floor if you stay here would be my advise. Great places to eat and within walking distance of a lot of interesting things!"

"Friendly staff, clean rooms. But not having AC (only heat) in the room on a warm 75 degree March day, no cable TV (I was trying to watch ESPN - but noticed you only have ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX) and lukewarm water to shower in the AM - wasn't a great look for the $370 I paid for the single night I stayed. "

"Was super surprised by the $35/night destination fee that I unexpectedly had to pay at check-in. All that came with that was a grab and go breakfast (packaged granola bars & oranges), you also get a $20 credit per room to spend at the café or the lounge bar. Which just feels scammy. There are no fridges in the rooms. There was an obscene amount of dust in the little cubbies at the base of the bed. There was no body lotion. Once I closed my blinds for the night, they were stuck and would not reopen for the 5 nights that I was there. They put a large emphasis on all of the bars/lounges/amenities that are within the hotel, but as a guest of the hotel, I couldn’t even get into any of them without booking a night in advance. Which in a way I can understand, but they made them all sound very accessible upon check-in. Honestly, there were a few good things, but they were largely overshadowed by the annoyances. Wouldn’t recommend for a longer stay, but I’m sure a night or two would be tolerable. "
