The Historic McGregor Cottage

Welcome to the McGregor Cottage, where you'll discover the historic charm of Fort Myers! Built in 1925, this cozy cottage is located just minutes from the famous Edison Ford Winter Estate, offering a glimpse into the lives of two of the greatest inventors of our time.

The cottage is fully equipped with a modern kitchen and a newly renovated bathroom with a walk-in shower and bench. Stay connected with complimentary wifi and catch up on work from the office desk in the bedroom. Complimentary bottles of water, snacks, coffee and toiletries!

In addition, the Fort Myers Country Club is less than 5 minutes away and is open to the public, offering endless opportunities for golf enthusiasts. After a long day on the greens, head back to the cottage kick back and relax and walk down the end of the street to Snell Park, a hidden gem to watch the sunset!

The McGregor Cottage is also located near many great restaurants, bars, and shopping destinations. You can explore the local area and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Fort Myers. Whether you're visiting for vacation, business, or family trips, the McGregor Cottage is the perfect place to stay.

As a courtesy to our guests - the McGregor Cottage does not charge cleaning or pet fee. Please note, we are a 30+ day rental and welcome multiple month stays.

Located near the downtown river district, this cottage is great for those looking for Ft Myers night life. 30 minutes from Ft Myers Beach. Perfect for singles or couples. Owner has stocked the cottage with essentials, and is accessible for any concerns. Would recommend a stay here.

Cottage in Great Neighborhood

Jeff (the host) was very responsive and friendly. He made sure to address any questions/concerns very promptly. The Cottage is small, but has everything you need and is in close proximity to all the shops and grocery stores you need. Is about 25-30 minutes to beach, but the proximity to Snell Park on the river is fantastic. The neighborhood features lovely homes and friendly people.

Fantastic say and a great host!!!!

This property is absolutely beautiful!!!! It’s in “Old Fort Myers” and the neighborhood is gorgeous. It’s a cute 1 bedroom 1 bath with a nice sitting area and a full kitchen. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Close to the downtown core and just a short drive down to Fort Myers Beach. I stayed for a month while I was working on a reno on my place just a short drive south. I would have stayed for the month of May but Jeff had it rented out for that time. Jeff is a great host, a great communicator and was very willing to accept a few deliveries I had come to the address. I would not hesitate to stay at this great little spot again and would recommend to anyone wanting a great spot to stay in the Fort Myers area. Definitely a 10 +

Best Neighborhood in Ft Myers

We called this cottage home for 2 months while our new home was being built. It was perfect for our needs. Jeff is an outstanding host. He quickly responded to any question or need. It has a good kitchen stocked with anything you might need to cook a meal. A comfortable bed with all necessary linens and towels provided. The cottage is located in the McGregor district, with the Edison and Ford Estates a short walk down McGregor Blvd.

We really enjoyed this cottage. It was the right size for the two of us. Loved the AC units. Made sleeping very comfortable. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Lots of space. The location was great for walking and exploring.

Fort Meyers trip Spring Break

Loved the property and location. Wife wasn’t comfortable with only one lock and the key outdoor key location. Only improvements is that you need a nightstand and possibly add a shelf over the toilet to help with the small bathroom countertop.

Great location and charming cottage

We were very pleased with this property- probably one of the best we have rented. It was amazingly clean and well appointed. The location was great- right in the middle of a residential area of lovely historic homes. Good for walking and also easy to get to town or out of town. Within walking distance of the Edison estate and about a block from the river. Just lovely. The cottage is behind a larger home and very private. The bathroom was recently remodeled. It was a great size for us as a couple. Parking was off street which was nice. The host provided extensive information prior to our arrival which was useful. Make sure you follow his directions for locating the property as GPS was a bit confused. Hope to stay again!

This place was perfect for my needs!

I needed a place to stay while working on my house that was damaged by Hurricane Ian. This cottage was ideal for relaxing when I wasn’t on cleanup duty or for working remotely when I wasn’t on cleanup duty. The neighborhood is great and there were ample sidewalks for walking or riding my bike. It’s super convenient to all the nice restaurants in north Ft Myers. Jeff is a great guy to know, in general. As a host he’s super responsive. There were several improvements he made while I was there just because he saw that it would make things easier for me while I was there. I highly recommend the McGregor Cottage!
