“This is hands down one of the prettiest and coolest properties you can stay in, in rural Portugal. The property, room and pool and service was amazing, but the town itself situated in is also just one of the coolest experiences. So many handmade items included in your stay and available to purchase. The host is amazing, super friendly and laid back. The grounds were beautiful, unique and has so much character. We stayed here for a night after taking the train into Pochino and it was one of the……

“Unfortunately there had been a storm and the hotel was without a restaurant or bar, and in recovery mode. However, the receptionist was very helpful. The hotel itself is a stunner.”

“Our stay at Casa do Rio was exceptional. There are 10 rooms with stunning views of the Douro River and vineyards. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, and we were welcomed with a plate of fresh figs and white port and all ingredients to make portonics. The grounds are lovely with an infinity pool overlooking the river and two semi private fresh water dunking pools. The food and was outstanding! We made our dinner selections earlier in the day and were treated to an exquisite……

“The property is extraordinary. The rooms are large, comfortable, and very tastefully decorated. The view of the Duoro Valley from our room and from the entire property really are magical. It would be hard to imagine a more beautiful setting. The common kitchen, with Honor Bar, is a great convenience. The dining room is tastefully austere ( some quiet background music would warm things up). Throughout the property are many comfortable private areas to relax both inside and out. The beautiful……

“Espléndido hotel, el desayuno es gratis pero podría mejorar… igual no es malo. El hotel es muy bonito y tiene excelentes vistas. Importante estar en coche ya que el hotel está muy bien ubicado pero sobre una cuesta así que regresar andando “es bueno para tu corazón “ Hotel super recomendable ”

“Un hotel boutique con excelentes servicios. La construcción es nueva aunque guarda un estilo clásico. Su personal es muy capacitado y extremadamente amable.”

“Very good service ”

“Such a beautiful and quiet place! The staff were wonderful and helpful. Supper was delicious local specialties. Breakfast was great with custom eggs and lots of selection. Their wine is excellent! We would totally recommend staying at this small, family run Quinta.”
