"When we arrived for my son's 8th birthday (he wanted a vacation where he could see a river AND a mountain) the host showed all three of my children how to catch crawfish in the irrigation canal that runs next to the property. "We absolutely loved our stay at Kasuitei Ooya. The whole vibe and decor of the ryokan (room and building overall) was very calming and captivating. The breakfast and dinner provided was phenomenal and everything we ate was fresh. The beds were tad bit less comfy then what we have previously experienced with japanese futons but rest assured, they are still very comfortable to sleep on. The staff were all super friendly,helpful and very accomodating to our needs. We are very greatful for this experience and would certainly stay here again if given the opportunity."

"We loved staying here! Our favorite hotel of our entire trip and we were only there one night! The view of mt Fuji was amazing from the front of the hotel!!! The staff were so helpful too. We were confused by how to access the closest train station, and one of the staff walked all the way outside to show us exactly where to go. He was so so sweet! Also, our room was nice and spacious. Which I feel like is hard to find in Japan! The room was very clean! We were able to get a massage at the spa as well and that was amazing!! The prices felt very reasonable (compared to america haha) The only thing that was hard is it felt kinda hard to find a taxi or uber from here. If you can figure out the route to the nearest train station/bus that will help a ton to get to all the fuji attractions! 10/10 would stay here again!!"

"We had a wonderful room with a view. Mt Fuji was very clear on the day we arrived. We had clear shots of Mount Fuji for 3 whole days. Amazing. We didn’t use the public bath as there were a lot of visitors. But in room bath was amazing. Just bought bath salts to use. Parking was readily available and we were blessed to see some wildlife as we drove down to town. Saw a small family of wild boars and deer. Lovely to hear birds singing in the morning. Breakfast was good as well."
