"We stayed in Room 701 and it was outstanding. As a corner room, it offered breathtaking views over the city, fjord/harbour and mountains, and we were even able to see the aurora from the room when it was active. The décor was warm and stylish, the room spotless and cleaned daily, and the bed very comfortable. It was a little warm at around 20°C, and the thermostat didn’t seem to lower, but opening the window solved this easily. The room was also very quiet.
Facilities were excellent, including a minibar (charged), kettle with teas/coffees, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, safe and reliable free Wi‑Fi. The lifts were fast and rarely busy. Breakfast was exceptional with a huge selection and is definitely worth adding to your booking. The lobby, bar and dining areas were beautifully decorated. The rooftop bar was closed during our stay, but you can still access the rooftop itself, which made for a great place to view the aurora.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had no issues during our stay, and the hotel happily stored our luggage after checkout while we waited for our late flight. The location was perfect, with most tours departing about a 15‑minute walk away. The cable car is around a 30‑minute walk, but it takes longer because the views are so stunning you keep stopping for photos!
Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay again."
"Great location. Easy to get to. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and has everything that you need. We took our own kettle as we like coffee when we wake up.
The staff are all very helpful and the trsndport links are very good. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices. Can't see why our own hospitals do not have this same facility to support patients and their families. "
"Great experience. Good connections into the city. Bus 28 every hour and the 20min rotation. I would advise organising transport if your plans are to hunt down some northern lights. I wish you all the best in this venture and I hope it’s as bright as possible showing how strong unit is. Otherwise try the hot dog the veg option was delicious. The story behind this place makes it special and the best place to get a hot dog in Europe. "
