「We booked this trip after 2 difficult years of illness and work stress and we were looking for a relaxing and quiet place to go and unwind and enjoy nature. We dreamt of days and nights on the porch listening to the birds and watching the animals by the water hole but instead our entire trip was ruined by building works. We felt like we were right in the middle of a building site and all we could hear the entire trip was hammering, drilling, machinery and workmen so there was no chance of any...

「Very primitive hotel without the air conditioning though the web site of Hotels.com said "air conditioning". There was the frog in the bathroom. However the people there were good and friendly. It will be Ok if you want to experience the primitive life of the local South African. Otherwise you'll be disappointed. You experience the hundred years ago primitive life. Don't expect the modern life comfort. The African local dance show is great.」

「Staff was great. Pool very nice and welcome on a very hot day. Only a couple of suggestions: 1. Maybe a TV in the rooms for nights as there is nothing at all to do. So the evenings become a little boring. 2. A Tiki bar, or even an honesty bar at the pool with limited drinks and snacks. Would be a great idea. 」

「We loved our stay at Mongena. Our 4 year old daughter loved having zebras and impalas walking around the lodge. The game drives were amazing, the guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. 」
