Very primitive without air conditioning

Very primitive hotel without the air conditioning though the web site of Hotels.com said "air conditioning". There was the frog in the bathroom. However the people there were good and friendly. It will be Ok if you want to experience the primitive life of the local South African. Otherwise you'll be disappointed. You experience the hundred years ago primitive life. Don't expect the modern life comfort. The African local dance show is great.

Good for an overnight stop. Room was large but not cleaned to an acceptable standard. Security guards do not distinguish check-in guest form visitors, so there is a wait at the gate for entry & exit. Doors do not close shut without forcing them. Aircon needs servicing, at full cooling, managed to keep the room at 25 °C. Breakfast was good but not worth R250 as you have many better options in the area at better value.

The cultural center was a magical experience, blending tradition and tranquility. The tours were deeply informative, and the traditional dances left us mesmerized. I idea of this property is amazing. The staff is absolutely amazing however I did not receive a cultural experience. The experience was white washed and pitiful exploitation of the tribes represented. It was not until the dance did I feel connected to my ancestors. It was beautiful it spoke to me for me. The food was good but the same options were given for lunch and dinner, there are no near by options unless you have a vehicle.

Dinner Flop

Everything else was fine apart from the dinner buffet. It was a HUGE disappointment. Firstly the selection was very limited with only beef and lamb stew. Secondly, the food was cold cold cold, the beef was stone cold, i couldn't eat it. When we told the waitress about it she just mumbled and shrugged it off and vanished. Same as for dessert, the custard was also cold. We were told dinner is served till 20:00 and we went to the restaurant at 18:45, so surely it couldn't've have been because were late. They just served cold food that day.

The staff adds another level of excellent customer service to the already wonderful experience. If you are in Johannesburg, it’s really hard to get anything close to the cultural experience… this place does it. I loved my stay there, loved everyone who worked there, and will definitely make staying here a regular part of my trip anytime I come to Joburg. From learning some words in Zulu to the African drumming lesson to the African dancing show… I can’t rave about it enough. Thank you for making my visit to South Africa extra special.

Good but disorganised

Accommodation good. However, staff at times were disorganised. Room was cleaned late in the evening. Communication could also be improved.
