This was the perfect break between Tokyo and Kyoto for our honeymoon. We didn’t realize how much we needed a beautiful, relaxing Japanese stay until we stayed here. The private onsen, the traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast (you can choose a western style if you wish), and the service provided by the property was excellent. I will prioritize staying here more and relaxing on my next trip to Japan rather than stay in the big city!

I thought the hotel was a good experience for my wife and I. The hot spring bath in our room was special and very relaxing. The setting was serene and beautiful. The couple downsides were the dinner food which was a little underwhelming, and also the pillows which were not very comfortable at all. Unfortunately, the pillows were not easy to sleep in and for a place that is supposed to be a relaxing getaway you would think they would prioritze that more. They only offer a Japanese dinner that is a prefixed chefs menu and many of the foods served are ones that USA tourists may not enjoy. Because the hotel is somewhat hidden from the greater town inside Hanoke, you are limited to what they have to offer. Other than that a great stay. The staff was incredibly kind and accomdating.

This is my first stay at a Ryokan, and this is a very strong start. Firstly the staff were outstanding, best hospitality staff ever. They had a lot of English speaking staff too so it was quite easy to navigate exceptions and various issues. Well worth the price. Expect to lounge around the Inn and just relax. We stayed two nights and got to try both dinner options. They were both fantastic. This Inn is expensive, but well worth it.

My stay at this hotel was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hospitality was top-notch, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure I felt welcomed and valued throughout my visit. The ryokan experience wasn't traditional but was still relaxing and worth it. My favorite part during this stay was their cuisine. Their breakfast and kaiseki meals were a culinary masterpiece!

We had an amazing time at Kinnotake Tonosawa - the experience from beginning to end was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating throughout the stay, and went above and beyond to make sure we got back to Odawara station for our Shinkansen reservation. The accommodations were top notch and the private room onsen was perfect. The multi-course dinner and breakfast services were amazing dining experiences and the chefs accommodated our food preferences. Highly recommend this property!

This is our third annual time here, paused by covid. Generally easy to get there from train station via public bus. Massage is awesome, meals are delicious, amenities generous, best part is in-room private onsen w view of bamboo, other trees. Pricey but we splurge staying here
