please see my review " hidden gem"
this is a back packers dream
they have washer/dryer on property also
the luggage storage was a big plus also
would I stay here again YESSSS !!!!!!!
This is the fourth time I have stayed here. it is very close to the Hamamatsu train station. All I needed was close proximity to train station, and a bed to sleep in at night.
Free breakfast was a plus, along with the nightly complimentary drink and bowl of curry. Room is a bit cramped and bed hard but this is pretty much the norm in all japaneese hotels. Room is also dated but if you want nicer accomodations then you're going to have to pay the price. I feel that this is a bargain for what I paid.
1st of all, you need to adjust your expectations.
If you are looking for a 5 star property, you need to continue looking.
If you are content with less, this could be a hidden gem.
All we really needed was a roof over our heads, as we will be traveling the rest of the time, this served us well.
many, many pros, you just have to look beyond .
hotel is just 3-5 minute walk from JR Hamamatsu station.
exit station, cross the street walk through an alley, turn left and hotel is 2nd one on left (sounds far, but not)
they serve a complimentary breakfast every day, meal is simple but hearty and filling, best of all, its FREE !
after a long day of sightseeing, what could be better than a glass of ice cold beer, ahhhh !! (and free)
couple that with a plate of curry rice (free also) I am one happy camper
if you think about it, my only meal I paid for was lunch,
we ate free breakfast in morning, went sightseeing for the day, came back for happy hour and simple supper.
Backpackers dream !!
Room is small, bed a little hard , typical japaneese hotel.
I was disappointed there was no lan connection for my computer, but they did have wi fi which was adequate.
A/C was not working, but was told it was controlled by the office, since we went in Nov,.I guess they assumed it
was not necessary.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
If you weigh the pros against the cons, then the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
If you can lower your expectations, you will be OK.
Would I come back again ? Yes!
