"Fantastic hotel, very spacious room go myself, my husband and our two young children and one baby. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating. They were always smiling, I don’t think saw one member of staff without a smile in their face, and not a forced smile, a real hearty smile. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice. The only thing I would suggest is to have a few more dairy free options. Plenty of gluten free choices. We had dinner at the hotel one night. It was pricey but the food was delicious. The staff serving were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. My baby had a dairy allergy and I am breastfeeding, so I am also dairy free. My baby also had other intolerances and I have allergies myself. The staff were very accommodating and checked with the chef for options for me. The only option I had was delicious - it is not their fault that I could only eat one thing in the menu as my baby and I just have quite a few allergies/intolerances between us. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and decorated to a high standard. Complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits, as well as a bottle of still water and one of sparkling water were available. Unfortunately we were unable to make use of the pool this time as we had plans for each day, but we look forward to staying at this hotel again in the future and to using the pool. I would highly recommend this hotel."

"Every time we go to Reading we stay with you. We have been many times before. It’s really good to see the same staff each time, feels like home. This time we stayed in an accessible suite (room 116), we have difficulty using the standard size bath for showering. The bath in this suite was lower with more helpful bars to hold on to. I know you do have drainage problems but our room was bad this time, lots of gurgling going on (even when it’s not us using it) , when we did use it there was 2 inches of backed up water after a short shower. This does however cover the non slip finish on the bottom of the bath, which could be dangerous. I know you would have moved us if we had said but once we had unpacked we don’t like moving. If I may suggest, when it happens here at home, I use a whole 1 litre bottle of Mr Muscle drain unblocker in the basin & one bottle in the shower the shower, leave for 4 hours then flush with boiling water . . works like a charm. Your hotel far outweighs any of the other places we have stayed in Reading and we will be back."

"The Garden wing is uninspiring upon arrival but inside is first class for quality and cleanliness. Room and en suite nicely furnished and laid out. Not a big room so, with the extremely high temperatures during our stay, became very warm. No aircon but a fan was already in situ. The main building was lovely and cool with doors open for through draughts and aircon in the restaurant. The grounds were excellent for walking and the gardens have great potential. Good quality food. Service good throughout - especially considering a wedding celebration was being hosted. Disappointed that disabled bays were occupied by a works van and two cars - none of which were displaying blue badges. Shouldn't be difficult to monitor as car reg is input on arrival."
