“Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. “Lovely garden views from the Kent building. Signposting lacking - had to check in at one building, and breakfast in the main house, whuch looked loveky, whilst staying in another building. Early check-out at 9.30. But check-in was no earlier than 3pm. Room stifling hot, no air con, no fan provided in the heatwave- windows do not open very far and seems to become sort of walkway around the ground floor windows. Standard walk-in shower. Breakfast choice fairly good, includes vegan sausages which……

“Great little find here! Lovely pub with great atmosphere, food fab with onsite restaurant. The room was really well presented and lovely decor. My room was facing south and west on the hottest day of the year, thankfully the staff provided a fan and there was a well stocked fridge in the room too. Breakfast was continental style in the room in a lovely hamper, plus yogurts, milk and orange juice in the fridge. Would go back again when in the area. Thanks team.”

“The room we had was fairly run down. In particular it had a strong and unpleasant odour. At first we thought having the windows open would help. But part way through the night the smell was so terrible we were awake. In the morning we realised it must have been mildew and mold. Some of the glass window pains had black mould, not only around the edges but in the middle of the glass. We left pretty early because we couldn't be in the room anymore. On check out we let the staff know and they……
