Great location overlooking the beautiful beach at Seaton Carew. Lots of bars and eating places in walking distance. Staff friendly and efficient. Easy parking beside the hotel. We stayed in one of their 'suites,' which, while large with fabulous high windows showing off the coastline, and original features like a fireplace, cornices, ceiling roses and chandeliers, is looking very tired. Just dumping some cheap furniture in there like a nest of tables that looked and felt like they came from Wilkos in the sale doesn't shout 'suite' to me. Other details are missing, like electrical sockets beside the bed (there was one behind the headboard but you'd need to move the bed to get to it! And the bathroom was just that, a 1970s style corner bath with a telephone shower attachment, but nowhere to attach it to, no curtain, so no shower. And the bath plug didn't actually fit the bath, so after 2 or 3 minutes minutes you had to top it up again! Sadly, without capital investment, I see this hotel going the way of many hotels of its age. Which is a shame, as the staff are great and so is the location.

Great place to stay and eat

Great place to stay. Rooms are very clean, shower is hot, staff are great, food in the bar and breakfast is very good. This is how a traditional UK hotel should be run !

Lage an der Promenade,wir hatten Meeresblick, aber viel Autoverkehr und Spielplatzlärm. Unsere 'Suite' hatte kein Four poster bed, obwohl die Fotos das suggerierten. Möbel zusammengewürfelt und billig.Okay, wir haben uns von den tollen Bildern verführen lassen und sind enttäuscht. Die nähere und weitere Umgebung ist von Industrie und Kraftwerken geprägt - Urlaubsgefühle kommen da nicht auf.

If i was basing this review on the staff, it would be a lot higher, however, the room i stayed in was incredibly noisy, smelly and had an uncomfortable bed. You also have to walk up a lot of stairs to reach your room and when carrying heavy bags, this is difficult. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms need decorating and new paint. Shower was cold, zero hot water in the night or morning.
