Rudi & Robben were perfect hosts, & even dropped us into town to catch a chemist before it closed. The property is a 15/20 minute walk into Hermanus, and well situated for both the town & new harbour, both which are accessible via the cliff top path. The guest accommodation is seperate to the main house and works well. The rooms are well stocked & clean. We had a lovely break in Hermanus

Comfortable and friendly guest house

Clean, comfortable, well equipped room in a modern guest house close to the town centre attractions of Hermanus. Knowledgable and helpful owner was always willing to advise us on things to do, places to visit, etc

The Gables is located in a quiet residential street within walking distance of the town centre. The Cliff Path is a stunning walk to and from the centre. The facilities at The Gables are good with lots of nice extras such as milk and biscuits and there is secure on-site car parking.

Accueil froid: remplir un questionnaire digne d’un interrogatoire de police. La chambre était OK mais rien d’extraordinaire (la vaisselle à disposition était sale). Emplacement du bâtiment et sécurité médiocres: situé à côté d’un bidon ville avec des individus étranges qui rôdent dans le quartier à toute heure de la journée et de la nuit. Une balade à pieds dans le patelin est impensable. Les murs des chambres sont extrêmement fins et peu/pas isolés.. on entend tout ce qui se passe dans les chambres autour et à l’extérieur! En plus il fait super froid la nuit, le froid rentre par les portes et les fenêtres.. le bâtiment n’est pas du tout étanche. Problème de rénovation évident, des grosses traces d’humidité au plafond en témoignent. Le propriétaire n’est pas aussi chaleureux que les locaux du pays et s’avère peu flexible voir rigide : nous avions demandé 1 grand lit double et nous avons eu 2 lits séparés.. il s’en foutait et n’avait aucune solution à proposer (meme simplement coller les 2 lits). Sans gêne et sans scrupule, il viendra vous déranger pour « avancer votre voiture de 10 millimètres » sous prétexte qu’il ne saurait pas sortir sa voiture du garage alors qu’il y a assez de place pour un hummer limousine.. et qu’il n’utilisera finalement pas sa voiture. Avec tout le respect, cet homme devrait penser à partir en retraite et laisser la gestion du bien à une équipe fraîche dont la satisfaction du client est la priorité.. ce qui n’est pas son cas.

Nett, freundlich und praktisch gelegen

Das Guest House ist zentral gelegen. Die Gegend ist ruhig. Der Service ist sehr nett und freundlich (auch in deutsch). Man kommt von dort überall gut hin. Wir haben tolle Touren gemacht. Ich fand es etwas sehr störend, daß die Reinigungskräfte das Zimmer "nach ihren Vorstellungen" aufgeräumt haben. Da musste ich erstmal meine Sachen wieder suchen. Aber sauber war es schon.

Erg geslaagd verblijf.

Een erg mooie B&B met prachtige kamers en goede bedden. Zeer goed gelegen. De eigenaar gaf veel uitleg over goede restaurants en wat te doen en te bekijken in de omgeving.

Great position, comfort and value.

Central position, friendly welcome, comfortable accommodation. It was a pleasure staying there and this newly-renovated guest house was just right for our extended weekend away.

Rustig en comfortabel

We hebben het verblijf als prettig ervaren .De lodge ligt dicht bij het centrum ,waar gezellige winkels en restaurants zijn .Het is 10 minuten lopen naar het befaamde coast path . Er wordt geen ontbijt geserveerd maar Hermanus biedt een keur aan leuke ontbijtrestaurantjes .

Mooi guesthouse net buiten het centrum

Mooi guesthouse op loopafstand van het centrum van Hermanus. De eigenaar is erg vriendelijk en de kamers verkeren in prima staat. De badkamer is erg mooi, de bedden slapen heerlijk en de WiFi is voor Zuid-Afrikaanse begrippen erg snel. Fantastisch!

Hübsche Unterkunft mit schöner Terasse

Die Unterkunft hat uns gut gefallen. Familie Kraus war super nett und hat uns tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen gegeben. Check in und Check out war unproblematisch. Zu dem Zimmer gab es eine süße Terasse, von welcher man aus zum Pool gelangt. Das Zimmer ist sehr sauber und neu- und hochwertig. Die Küche hat alles was man benötigt (Mikrowelle, Toaster, Wasserkocher, Kühlschrank...).

Our stay at The Gables was amazingly comfortable. The host was exceptionally friendly and made sure that we were well taken care of at alll times. Will definitely be back in the future.

Fantastic in every way

Every thing about the Gables is wonderful. Only 3 rooms and each is like a small appartment with every facility. Whilst breakfast is an optional extra, it is worth every Rand. The owners mantra is " the guest must be happy" and he certainly delivers
