  • Garden Cottage sits at the end of a charming row of former farmworkers' cottages, thoughtfully renovated to combine original character with modern comfort.

    Full of charm, the cottage retains its traditional feel while offering everything needed for a relaxed stay. Upstairs, the en-suite bedroom can be arranged as either a double or twin, making it a flexible option for couples or friends. Downstairs, a cosy living space with a log burner provides the perfect spot to unwind, especially during cooler months, while the well-equipped kitchen has all the essentials for easy, self-catered stays.

    The renovation has been carefully carried out to preserve the cottage's original features, including the staircase, which adds to its character. Please note, as is typical of period properties, the stairs are narrow and steep.

    Set in a quiet and peaceful spot, Garden Cottage is ideal for those looking for a relaxed countryside escape with plenty of charm and a homely feel. One allocated parking spot.

    Two well behaved dogs are welcome and there is a fully enclosed and secure garden for them to enjoy.

    Perfect honeymoon break

    We found the cottage very comfortable and quiet, perfect location for visiting North Norfolk.had every thing you could possibly need , despite our ages ,70,79,we just managed to climb the stairs to bed each evening, highly recommend visiting this lovely cottage

    First class cottage

    Extremely well equipped and comfortable cottage and our dogs really enjoyed the secure garden. The welcome pack was lovely too. The cottage was very well positioned for all of the North Norfolk coast whilst enjoying a peaceful village location. Great property, which we will definitely like to stay in again.

    Lovely cottage for two

    This was a delightful cottage. It was clean, looked recently refurbished, well laid out and was extremely cosy. The staircase was very steep, but worth the climb to the nicely decorated bedroom and en-suite. There was a fenced in garden, which was handy especially for the dog. There’s a nice pub 10 minutes walk also. Norfolk Stay were very helpful and sorted out any booking queries we had.

    A very enjoyable week

    We had a very good week at Garden Cottage. As mentioned the cottage was lovely and clean and is a good base for touring the area. This was not our first stay and we hope to return again. The only blip was the state of the garden furniture which was not the most comfortable to sit on.

    Lovely cottage and great sized garden for the dog. Very clean and had everything you needed for a break away. Perfect location, close to coast, National Trust properties and towns and villages with great pubs to eat. Very quiet and peaceful. Welcome pack was very appreciated. Will definitely be back.

    Comfy cottage in ideal location

    Cottage well placed for the North Norfolk coast and Sheringham Park. Quiet location with enclosed private garden very relaxing. Excellent welcome pack with bottle of wine, blackcurrant and quince cordial, Blackcurrant jam, large cookies and coffee pods. Kitchen well equipped. Tea, coffee and sugar provided (no salt and pepper ?) Tea pot could do with replacing. All in all clean and very comfortable and relaxing accommodation. Recommend Norfolkstay.co.uk for bookings.

    Garden Cottage is situated in a very quiet and charming area of North Norfolk some 3 miles south of Sheringham. The cottage is well equipped, and always very clean on arrival. Has a pleasant garden mainly down to grass which is frequently cut.

    Charming cottage in superb location.

    Charming old cottage with a pretty private garden. Lovely kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Very well equipped. We did feel the lounge could be made more ‘homely’. A rug under the coffee table would have softened the room.

    Another Norfolk Holiday

    This was our fourth stay at Garden Cottage and hope it will not be our last. The cottage was very clean on arrival as has always been the case. It is in a great location for a variety of places to visit. The new garden furniture was a huge improvement which helps if you want to sit outside in good weather.     Back Again

    On arrival the cottage was very clean as aways. The Welcome Pack was much appreciated. The downside was the awful smell from the shower drain which should be looked at by the owner.It was not there all the time but when it was it was not pleasant. Apart from that everything was great and we have booked again for next year. Frank and Barbara.

    Cosy but needs upgrading

    Our second time at Garden Cottage - our first visit was ten years ago. A warm and cosy cottage in a lovely location, but sadly now needs upgrading, especially the bathroom which is very tired. Only a 2 seater sofa now, whereas there used to be a sofa and an armchair, so not so comfortable on a long winter evening.

    Garden Cottage review

    Garden Cottage was very cosy and well appointed. Dog friendly being tiles throughout downstairs and with secure garden. Steep stairs to second floor but we managed them ok. Only down side was the drain smell upstairs from the outside soil pipe, not smelt downstairs.

    Super-comfy cottage in great location.

    Been coming to North Norfolk for about 20 years, but closure of our usual farm-stay meant we had to find somewhere new this time. What a brilliant find! Location is great. Exactly half a mile to the Wheatsheaf pub (very friendly and great food), and only a very short drive to the Holt- Sheringham road. Cottage itself is spacious enough for two, with a good size kitchen (fully stocked with utensils) and a downstairs loo/ utility. Lounge is warm and cosy, with a log-burner, radio/CD, TV/DVD and space for muddy boots and wet coats. Bedroom has sloping ceiling (mind your head) and bathroom is large. Didn't use the bath as the shower is one of the best I have ever come across. Spiral staircase is hilarious/ vertiginous depending whether you're at the bottom or top. Didn't get into the garden as we were out exploring all daylight hours, but it's a decent size even if the views are spoiled by the high hedge. Handyman lives next door, which was indeed handy as there was a small leak in the utility room. Not a problem for us, and we were even offered a different cottage if we wanted it, which was very gracious. We were fine where we were. Overall you'll guess we were delighted, and we'll be back again soon.

    Excellent

    This was our second stay at this lovely cottage as we loved it so much the first time. It suits us and the dogs perfectly and is. Dry much home from home. As mentioned last time it would be really good if there was a full length mirror upstairs but other than that we loved our stay. Sadly though we had to cut the trip short as my father died. We will be back at some stage. And thank you for your understanding
