「Lovely stay, a little disappointed that the breakfast was a brown bag filled with a pot of porridge, croissant and orange juice. We did find somewhere local in Castleton for breakfast. Was very clean and lovely place to stay.」

「I highly recommend this hotel. Very friendly and professional staff. Every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. An excellent choice of breakfasts included in the price. The restaurant was excellent in the evenings. The location is fantastic with wonderful views of the beautiful Peak countryside.」

「The property is centrally located and provides ease of access to many walks. There is a fully stocked supermarket nearby which provides foods and essentials and there are a number of good eateries within walking distance. The cottage is cosy and clean with all the facilities you could reasonably want. The kitchen is very well equipped. The hosts were very friendly and aoproachable. I heartily recommend this cottage for your restful break.」

「Staff were excellent. Very helpful. Food good. However, our room, No.3, was shabby, to say the least. Definitely not value for the price. Mould in the shower. Peeling wallpaper. Toilet window unable to open. Dirty carpet. Burnt arm on heated towel rail when bent down to retrieve towel from floor. No warning notice. Double wall socket peeling from wall. Dirty TV remote held together by sellotape. Small TV with poor sound. Photos support my assertions.」

「The room had a single wardrobe that was totally inadequate for our 5 night stay. The staff were very helpfull. The outdoor pool was very nice. The breakfast was very good but the management of the restaurant during breakfast is poor for a 5 star hotel.」

「Excellent location, lovely staff and clean rooms with a great shower for post-hike/bike. The rooms were a little hot during the heatwave, even at night where the temperature outside was a good 10 degrees cooler than inside the room. Windows were not large enough to provide sufficient airflow I think The restaurant was not worth the price - there are plenty of fantastic, cheaper options in the nearby hathersage/hope area. 「Loved my stay! The staff was super friendly and nice, felt very welcomed. The room was comfortable and clean. Parking was easy and convenient. The breakfast was perfect, I also dinned in the restaurant and loved everything. Banana Toffee Waffle dessert is well worth the calories!」
