The room was spacious and attractive. The hotel overall is very well cared for and the staff seem to be very happy to work there - they are extremely helpful and friendly. The highlight of our stay was the truly delicious dinner we enjoyed - a very memorable, high-quality meal. The heating in our room was domestic style radiators and it was tricky to get the room temperature right, this was a minor detail.

This hotel is located in a beautiful old building with a gorgeous garden. The rooms are charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day and the bar in the evening. Nice wine selection! Its a great locattion for visiting Chatsworth House and the beautful scenery of the Peak Distict.

Die Buchung dieses Hotels war leider eine Fehlentscheidung. Wir kamen gegen 18:30 Uhr an. Noch an der Haustür kam eine junge Mitarbeiterin und brachte uns sofort zum Zimmer. Sie ging mit hinein, kam sofort zum Thema und wollte wissen wann wir zum Abendessen gehen und welches Menu wir haben möchten. Wir waren völlig überrumpelt. Sie sagte, wirklich müssten uns sofort entscheiden. Ich bat um 10 Min. Bedenkzeit. Sie wies uns dann auf die Frühstückszeit 8-9:00 h hin. Ein Unding solch eine kurze Zeit. Da wir früh abreisen mussten, baten wir um früheres Frühstück. Dies wurde abgelehnt. Ebenso abgelehnt wurde die Möglichkeit nur einen Wein zu trinken und ein kleines Gericht dazu zu essen. Wir teilten der Frau mit, dass wir kein Menu mehr essen würden und baten um ein Lunchpaket. Dies wurde bestätigt. Nach 10 Min. klopfte die Frau erneut am Zimmer und wollte nun sofort die Übernachtung bezahlt haben. Legte CC-Gerät und arg. aufs Bett. So ein Vorgehen haben wir noch nie erlebt. Unwürdig. Leider waren zum Abreisezeitpunkt am nächsten Morgen um 7:15 h weder ein Mitarbeiter noch ein Lunchpaket vorhanden. Preis Übernachtung inkl. Frühstück war 327,39 €. Dieses Haus ist als Hotel in keiner Weise serviceorientiert und nicht zu empfehlen.

Lovely stay. The staff was great! Everyone went out of their way to be kind and helpful, even helping when our plans to tour local sites got messed up by a very heavy winter storm that caused power outages. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a bit pricey, but excellent quality and our servers could not have been better. Breakfast every morning was delicious and, again, our server was lovely. Would recommend this hotel if touring Derbyshire area.

Had a great stay here, room was spacious and well appointed. The lounge, breakfast room and restaurant were comfortable and beautifully decorated. Minor disappointment with the breakfast and lack of support from the hotel with dining options on the Monday/Tuesday when the restaurant was closed.

Our stay at Fischer will make staying at other hotels difficult since they have set a high bar of quality and perfection. Neil, Michael, Otto and John are absolutely amazing. The best stay I’ve ever had anywhere else in the world.

Relaxation Assured

We would certainly give this place ten out of 10! No pool spa, gym but wonderful accommodation, excellent cuisine, beautiful surroundings and everyone treated as a V.I.P. We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break (3 nights).
