  • Bamford is in an AONB, with walks from the door, including 14-mile trail round the Ladybower Dam.. Ground Floor:

    Bathroom: Corner Bath With Shower Attachment, Toilet. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair. Welcome pack.. Large, lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. Please note: No children over 2 years. There are horses and farm machinery in grounds.. This detached, chalet-style holiday property has skyline views and is located in the owners’ grounds, in the outskirts of Bamford, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Hope Valley. Walks from the doorstep include the Ladybower Dam, a 14-mile round trip. Enjoy pony-trekking and riding in nearby Edale, the start of the world-famous Pennine Way. Enjoy fishing, climbing, walking, cycling or caving. Visit National Trust properties, Chatsworth and Bakewell, home of the Bakewell pudding, a must for visitors. Horse riding and golf nearby. Shop 1½ miles, pub 1 mile, restaurant 2 miles.

There are lots of walks from the doorstep.

There are lots of walks from the doorstep. We hardly needed to use the car. The cottage is arranged to make the most of the beautiful views of the hills across the valley and of the hares which came to feed outside our windows. The accommodation is surprisingly spacious for a one bedroom property and is fitted out with very comfortable furniture. Certainly this is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.

A lovely quiet comfy cottage with everything you will need. And the important things in the fridge on arrival...beer, wine and milk. The best thing is the view from the lounge windows. The cottage had everything we needed. It was very comfortable and was situated in a beautiful and peaceful location. Just right for us. We found some great walking in the area and also visited Bakewell, Buxton and Chatsworth house and gardens. Although the weather was a bit showery on occasion, we had a lovely break and it didn't stop us doing anything we wanted.

Lovely cottage in a very quiet spot . Although in owners garden it is private and secluded with lovely views over surrounding countryside. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay . The kitchen is very well equipped with all you need for cooking . Nice touches with a welcome bottle of wine ,milk and beer . Also cleaning products etc . If you want a quiet place to stay but a short car journey to walks etc this is perfect .

We can’t rate this place higher. We enjoyed it thoroughly. The location is central to many places we visited, the price was right, and on the few days with bad weather, was perfect even just for staying in. When you wake up and look outside, you are greeted with a spectacular scene of Derbyshire dales with horses grazing in the foreground. The cottage has everything you need to be self-sufficient, and is so nice, you feel bad driving off and missing it when you spend the day sightseeing.
