I stayed only for a short overnight before an early morning flight and found this hotel perfect for the cause. Very convenient transport to and from Gatwick by shuttle (4-5 pounds), and a bar and restaurant on site so there’s no need to go elsewhere. Staff is very friendly and efficient, room was quiet and comfortable.

The Gatwick Hoppa shuttle bus is located on stop 11 on the north terminal. Not the opposite of Premier Inn as the airport staff says. The shuttle bus drops you off at the front door of Holiday Inn north side. Very convenient. The desk staff are kind to handle your luggage’s when you arrive too early for check-in time. In the lobby there are seating with charging port while you wait. Plus, you can order food and drinks.

The reception staff are great. The location being in Gatwick is terrific of course, convenient for the airport and trains. The amenities are clean and comfortable however dinner service let the hotel down. No shortage of staff it seemed but totally disorganised the night we were there. Guests were asking for menus, following up on drinks, food and dinners. My husband finally received a dessert he was waiting for only to have another brought to the room long after we left the dining room. It seemed like disorganised chaos. The hotel if they rectify training and ensure some procedures in place in the dining room will nail it.

Whenever I book using expedia I almost always get the room that nobody wants, the one next to the high traffic door, the elevator, or the ice machine area. It seems to be a pattern and I suspect it is because I use the expedia app to do so because it is always mentioned when I check in. The staff will almost always say " booked with expedia?" We have a ok time there. Ate at the hotel, service was slow, could see the restaurant manager having a bit of chat to one of the servers, it was obvious not a good one. Food was not great and they over charged me for food I did not have. Manager got it fixed and also deleted the service charge. Used the shuttle to and from the Gatwick airport. Was seamless.
