Staff are friendly and very responsive. Having laundry options, the gym, a microwave, ice maker, and a lounge area all on the top floor was super convenient. It’s close to good restaurants and a decent shopping area. The only issue you may run into, is the drive home if you’re working in Science Park. You have to leave by 5, if you don’t want to spend 40 mins taking a 11 min trip.

Room was better in the past
Carlton used to be quite good condition years back when I stayed. Unfortunately, this time I feel the condition was kinda old, don’t seems to be well maintained. Hygiene wish is acceptable though, and the service by staff are still good and friendly.

中央空調沒有暖氣，跟櫃檯反應送了一台非常小的暖氣。但有跟沒有一樣，房間還是很冷。後來櫃檯說可以換房間，但要換到沒有窗戶的房間，說：沒有窗戶的房間會比較暖？ 因為不喜歡沒有窗戶的房間就沒有換了，櫃檯給多給了一個棉被。 完全不推薦，也不會再訂這間飯店了

Good size room, breakfast spread was nice with Japanese food (miso, tonkatsu, nato), nice lication with lots of eateries. Hotel room is old.

Stayed 11 nights. Prepaid via Expedia, picked up room card and went straight to the room. Smooth staff-less check in. Large size executive queen room with good size bathroom in Taiwan standard. Balcony can overlook the city buildings. Only complaint about about the cleanliness is the aged carpet, needs an update. Food is better than expected with 3 meals delivered on time. After 3 days, hotel accommodated my request of vegetarian food only with great attitude and the same good quality meal. Will book this hotel again if needed.

The room was a great size and the bed was comfortable. We stayed two nights and enjoyed being able to stretch out and come back to a welcoming space.

整體還不錯，地理位置好。 房間活動空間大，但插座有點少。 浴室有浴缸、有乾溼分離。 櫃檯人員服務態度與品質良好。 飯店一樓可供停放自行車，適合環島旅行者。

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was good. Two only negatives - the toilet water kept running after flushing and parking was not easy to access.

Great stay as always
Always my best choice when I visit hsinchu.. place is near to 陈皇庙, SOGO mall etc.. cleanliness is still good, never fail me.. Carlton has washing machine, iron board, table tennis, gym and a place to sit and chill on the top floor.. quite a nice facilities to have if you need it.. staff are friendly.. overall pleasant experience , will continue to come back

Restaurant wasn't reached the same standard
Hotel staffs are quite nice and service was great. One thing g I would like to complain was for the restaurant downstairs. They said customer who has birthday on this month get half price discounted, so I did ask for that promotion and I did show them my passport when I sit down. After I finish my lunch, they told me I am not qualified for that promotion because I was eating lunch alone and they had to charge me the full price. I was so shocked that no one mentioned that to me, even when they asked my passport to prove my birthday, no one ever mention that till I get the bill. I am so upset about it, even I was speaking the same language, they still try to do that kind of cheating business. I also noticed there was a foreigner who ordered food and kept waiting for so long and no one came to explain or cared about his feeling. Anyway the food wasn't that good and I hated the service experience I had there.

Ok hotel but nothing great.
Old hotel with its problems - shower water leaked into the room, broken bedside lamp that can't be turned off, internet cable that wasn't working, air con temperature sensor doesn't work, etc. However, service was good. Staff did try to help rectify the problems highlighted (I didn't highlight all, just a couple of important ones) and room was very clean. Can't comment on surrounding areas as I didn't have time to explore around.

A bit old
Location and breakfast are very good. But the hotel itself is quite old, which I don't mind if the air filtering system is good. Unfortunately that area can get quite polluted so the room smells with a combination of pollutants, cigarettes, and cleansing liquids. With this price you can get better hotels in Taipei.

Parking is not easy, if you wanna go out after checkin, visitor has to park at different area. Or if you come back to late, you can’t park at hotel’s park area. BTW, the mattress is harder then other hotel’s, not comfortable for pregnant women.

Great hotel for family
Checkin was smooth. Had a corner quad room unit which was next to the chambermaids store. Little noisy in the morning. Room size and bedding was fine with extra comforters and pillows. Situated opposite a police station so security is good and i was out late and felt safe. Lots of food and convenience stores nearby too. Cab to most attractions nearby is about 100nt and very convenient. Hotel does the booking and cab arrives within 5mins.

I stayed at Carlton Beida several times already. Breakfast is decent, and other facilities are good. Overall it provides a good place to stay for a biz trip. It also provides a meeting room on the first floor. The hotel allowed us to use it whenever possible; it was very convenient.

Free movies and cable TV
There are a variety of different new movies in many different categories. They also provide cable TV with lots of channels. The only drawback I would say is the bathtub got some stain on it. But overall it's pretty good.

The staff were very nice and helped us with our luggage. The rooms are large with two large kind sized beds. The bathroom includes shower and a tub.

The bed was like sleeping on a rock hard slab...... You need new mattresses and memory foam protectors for more comfort.... The room was very musty and the carpet smells al through out the hotel.

Nice hotel near night market
We stayed in the deluxe king room. The room was very spacious and clean. Probably it was due to the cold weather (it was 12 degree celsius that night), the room air con is not cooling and can get stuffy, so we have to leave the windows opened to let the cool air in. The hotel receptionist was friendly and helpful, and was able to advise on some selection of local food nearby. The Chenghuang Temple Night Market is just about 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. The hotel has a basement car park which they will valet parked your car and we get free parking for our stay there.
