We loved the house and especially the outdoor space ! Parking was hard to understand where you park and the construction was quite the nuisance- 7 am noise, zero additional parking And found out the project was underway long before we booked - would have been nice to know up front vs a message a few days prior to arrival. Takes away from the “steps to the beach” in description ! Surrounding neighbors - left a wagon and an icechest in the common area just overnight - emptied water and was airing out the ice chest and someone moved toward the back units where the dog lives as if they were going to steal it also folded up wagon and moved it - thankfully we were able to retrieve both seemed a bit suspect. Recommendations - Tupperware to pack things in for the beach would have been handy :)

Perfect Spot

The house is very close to the beach, boardwalk and a few good restaurants. The house is very comfortable and a set up well to maximize the small space. The bed was very comfortable and the pull out couch was one of the most comfortable ones I have had! The patio is well set up and giving a large living space! The laundry is a huge plus to have near the beach. Parking is tight but having a guaranteed spot in the front is so nice! Loved the house! We had one hiccup with the ac and the property management team went above and beyond to address. Would recommend

The property was listed in a completely different city. List as Newport Beach front vs Sunset Beach. It has since been updated to reflect sunset beach. There was a very bad ant infestation in the kitchen that we woke up to the second day. The hosts were very much aware as we found many ant treatment solutions under the sink when cleaning up the ants. Being a holiday weekend there were no other lodging stays available - being from out of state we HAD to complete the stay. We contacted the host and the property managing agency only to be met with nonchalant and “well, you stayed here” type of responses. Our groceries were ruined by ants, we were in the wrong city, our children were bitten by ants and Avant refuses to address the issues. Dealing with them is probably the worse than the stay. There is no cooling in the living room or exterior family room. On the hottest of summer days, the 1 mini split in the bedroom is insufficient cooling. The host sent a text message saying “the mini split sometimes leaks, do not leave it running.” Bottom line, save yourself the hassle. If you’re looking to stay on Sunset Beach, it’ll suffice if you don’t mind the ants… As difficult as it is to write a one star review, Avant and the host have no regard for their guests. I hope others have a better experience.
