  • Nyumbani is a traditional single storey Skye cottage situated in its own wrap around gardens overlooking beautiful Loch Harport on the stunning west coast of the Isle of Skye. Nyumbani mean 'our home', in Swahili, and this aptly describes this attractive cottage, with its homely lounge/dining room with open fire, deep leather sofas, family sized kitchen and 3 generously proportioned bedrooms. There is a lovely conservatory that provides a second lounge area, with large flat screen TV and DVD. Doors open onto the fully enclosed gardens that surround the property. Bed linen & towels provided.

The House was very spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed, the kitchen is well equiped, even though the drawers seem to fall apart…Also the bathroom looks like it needs some repairs, they put up a dehumidifyer, because for example there is the caulking missing around the tub.Still we were happy with our stay and all the questions we had got answered quickly by the host.

The cottage contained all that we needed for our stay. The cottage is showing signs of wear and tear, though none of this detracted from our stay. Lovely views, we made lots of usage of the conservatory in the evenings.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful located house on Skye. Lots of space with 3 bedrooms, nice beds, a nice sunroom and big kitchen and storage area. And great to have a washing machine.The kitchen could use a new fryingpan, and some cleaning of the cabinets. The outside of the house looks a bit shabby, but that is all just cosmetical.Overall great value for money

We loved the location! It was great having a dryer. House layout was great, especially loved the sun room. The room with the double bed was very comfortable, but the rooms with the 2 twins were not adequate for adults-very springy and soft. Supplies were inadequate for our group of 6.

Das Haus ist überraschend groß allerdings sehr lieblos gepflegt. Es könnte dringend an vielen Stellen renoviert werden. Die Lage ist jedoch fantastisch und der Ausblick ist wirklich sehenswert. Wir sind mit 2 Kindern, einem Baby und 2 großen Hunden gereist und hatten genug Platz und Raum. Insgesamt war es ein gemütlicher Aufenthalt es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Jedoch keine Luxusunterkunft und das Bad bräuchte von allen Räumen ganz dringend eine Renovierung.

Apart from a lovely location, this property is not up to a standard anyone would expect when a paying customer. The property is in need of maintenance, repair and updating. The bedding was clean but so much else needs cleaning. There is a problem with damp which explains the dehumidifier running when we arrived and instructions to turn it on if using the shower. We aired the property while we stayed but on arrival it smelt bad. I don’t normally write reviews but feel strongly that it is not fair for people to pay to stay here whilst it needs so much doing to improve things.

Fantastic!

The house was very roomy and comfortable and had all the amenities we could ask for. It had more than enough room for our family of 5 and great views. Would love to have stayed here much longer than 2 nights.
