Been to cheaper yet much better ryokan with fantastic food and service, but this place I needed to keep drinking sake to compensate on how awful the food is. "

"The room is spacious and offers a beautiful view of the lake. The customer service is attentive and thoughtful. As for the meals, there is an impressive variety of dishes, most of which are delicious—especially the botan shrimp, yellowtail, and the steamed egg custard with nodoguro. In addition, the breakfast exceeded my expectations and was the best I’ve had across my past ten ryokan stays. You can tell the differences through their careful selections of food ingredients.
