"Our room was clean. We appreciate the ice water, coffee and tea that are always available. Breakfast has custom omelets made fresh for you and many options for a hot meal. The ice cream parlor at night is popular. It’s very family friendly and good clean books are displayed for sale. We love the Bluegate every year when we visit Shipshe."

"Very nice updating to the hotel. Our room was clean and the furniture was in good condition. We did have a problem with the shower flowing onto the floor. The pool is small but it is indoor and is well maintained. The breakfast is better then most hotels in this price range. Overall a very comfortable two night stay."

"Started off nice. Everything seemed clean. Pulled back the comforter, and there was a stain on it in 2 parallel spots, both looked like blood. My fiancée fell in the shower, luckily with minor injuries. No non-slip shower floor, whatsoever. Went to the desk, asked if the hotel had a first aid kit, which I needed several things from. Attendant didn't even ask if anything was wrong, or what had happened. Seemed very unconcerned. There was a massive gap between our door, and the floor. I've seen much worse, but for the rating this place has, and paying $180 for it, and getting a cold selection breakfast, this place just ain't it. Housekeeping staff were very kind and helpful."
