Great location right next to a metro station in a relatively quiet neighborhood. Restaurants and convenience stores nearby. They reached out in advance to confirm our arrival time (the front desk has limited hours) and greeted us by name when we arrived. Luna was incredibly helpful and provided us with maps and recommendations in English. We were able to store our luggage after checkout. They even allowed us to store rented bikes at the hotel overnight, which enabled us to explore more of Kyoto than would otherwise have been possible. Everything was very clean, and our twin, apartment-style room was comfortable and larger than any other we saw during our visit to Japan. Highly recommended!
This is a small hotel, slightly away from the main tourist accommodation spots. But still within a easy walking distance of the station. A bit difficult to find as it is in a local urban setting but if we found it anyone can. The room we had was set up as an apartment. It was quite large and had an sitting area and a small kitchen. If you are travelling as a group or with family, this maybe of great benefit. Good size bathroom and would be suitable for an extended stay.
Large room with kitchenette and sofa, full bath for a very reasonable price. Four minutes by foot from subway, 20 minutes by foot to train station. Easy walking distance to downtown and Gion. Good restaurants nearby, just ask at desk. And say
hi to Luna, the hard working, always smiling, impossibly well organized manager. Note: desk unstaffed after 9 pm so message them if you have a late arrival. Self check in is easy.
Absolutely loved it and the location and Luna, the lady at the desk. Only one suggestion, make dishes available for those who wish to use the hot plate. We had coffee and tea and mugs but not a single spoon or fork or knofe or any other kind of dish. Breakfast was not supplied and it would have been nice if we could have made toast, or boiled an egg since we are early risers and like to sit around in the mornings and relax with a book, etc. Could not even eat yogurt without getting a plastic spoon from the convenience store. However, still the best place we stayed in during our 10 day tour in Japan. I recommend the Stella Inn management have dishes, cutlery, etc, available at the desk for those who wish to cook a little on their own. The perfect place to stay in Kyoto nonetheless.
The man at the front desk was very helpful in giving suggestions for itineraries and modes of transport for getting to the different points of interest. The rooms themselves clean and modern, but there were no nightstands beside the bed. The blanket was excellent. The towels, however, were small and smelled odd.
Ottimo anche per mangiare in stanza peccato l'assenza totale di stoviglie, nonostante ci sia la cucina.
Molto spazioso rispetto allo standard in Giappone
