The complementary breakfast was really great, fresh baked croissants and a list of hot options. The rooms were clean and basic but just want was needed really. "We had a great stay here the cottage we stayed in was perfect for our family of four and was in good condition. We did have an issue on our last night which interfered with our plans but the staff at reception were very understanding, helpful and accommodating. The location was great for day trips into Looe, St Austell and more. Definitely be coming back here. Thanks for a memorable stay."

"As it was once a jail, the walls are thick and built under interesting (challenging) circumstances, which you can learn about. It feels like you are inside a sturdy fortress. The rooms are very well appointed and the bathroom is a highlight, with a waterfall shower and a fabulous bathtub placed on the tiles at the other end of a full length wall mirror. Lux. Staff were friendly and reserved, very easy to deal with. The restaurant/breakfast room is an old chapel. It’s impressive. Had a lovely quiet stay here, thick walls and the small windows of the cell."

"The hotel was comfortable and clean, the parking was perfect. The staff were extremely helpful and chatty they went out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. "I booked this place for the views, and the beautiful sunset certainly didn't disappoint. The building itself is stunning, and the lounge is fantastic—absolutely full of interesting paintings and knick-knacks to look at. However, the stay had its downsides. The building is in a bit of poor condition, with visible water and other damages here and there. The parking lot is also completely unmarked and has an awkward shape, making it feel crowded and a bit hectic to navigate. As for the single room, it was acceptable but felt a bit like staying in the servant's quarters of a big mansion, especially after seeing the grand lounge. The en-suite was just a tiny, self-contained bathroom unit added to the space. It wasn't the most enjoyable part of the stay, but it did the job."
